The ex- cellent pitching helped White- church Juniors to defeat the Grand Valley team 15-0 in the first game of a best -of -three OASA series. Bill Robinson grand slammed two home runs and George Skinn hit a triple, double and ,single to lead the winners. On Saturday the two squads met in the Wingham Park and Whitechurch clobbered the vi- sitors 22-0 to give them the series for the OASA Junior C Zone quarter finals. Leading the Whitechurch hitting attack was Alex Craig. He had a homer and a triple. Bill Robinson collected a home run. Farrier and Skinn formed the Whitechurch battery in the first game and in the second it was Farrier, Henry (6) and Skinn. Eliminate Wellesley in fest-of-5 WHITECHURCH-The local nine eliminated Wellesley in three straight games to take the WOAA semi-final series. In the first game at Welles- ley the Whitechurch Juniors de- feated the host team 15-1 in the first of the best of five ser- ies, Wayne Farrier struck out 16 and allowed four hits. The leading hitters for Whitechurch were Alex Craig with two ho- mers and Farrier with four hits, including a double and a triple. The second game was held in Wingham when the White- church squad was again victor- ious with a score of 11 to 1. Alex Craig had a double and a triple and Wayne Riehl came through with a triple. Farrier allowed only two hits in the en- tire game. The third and final encoun- ter, played in Wingham on Tuesday of last week, was the third straight win for White- church. The score was 4-0, Ladies Win Sicking Trophy Mrs. Andy Lunn, skip, Mrs. Joe Kerr and Mrs. Miller Davis with three wins captured the Ricking Trophy at the Atwood Bowling Club on Saturday. Second prize was won by Mrs. Jack Maclntyre's rink of Wingham with two wins. Mrs. O. Haselgrove and Mrs. Carl Lott were on her team. A third rink from Wingham also attended, Mrs, R. DuVal skip, Mrs. E, Webster and Mrs. Walter Brown. Belgrave Downs Port Elgin 13-7 Belgrave Intermediates took a 1-0 lead in the best of three series with a 13-7 victory over Port Elgin in OASA Int, C ac- tion Monday night. Murray Procter with a home run, triple and single and Bob Higgins with two doubles and a single led the Belgrave attack. Farrier and Skinn were the battery throughout the series. TROPHY GOES TO MRS. A. R. DUVAL Twenty entries from Goder- ich, Walkerton, Teeswater, Paisley and Seaforth entered the ladies' trebles for the Mac- Intyre Bowling Trophy. Mrs. A. R. DuVal, Mrs. R. H. Lloyd and Mrs. Roy Bennett won the trophy and first prize. Mrs. Vanderplas of Paisley captured second. Mrs. Archie Blair, Teeswater, won the third place and Mrs. J. Macln- tyre, Mrs. Walter Brown and Mrs. A. Mitchell won fourth. • Mrs. Hobley of Walkerton won the consolation event. The weatherman favoured with a sunny afternoon. Other members of the Clinton team were Robert Draper, Pat McMahon and Len Arnston.—Photo by Strong. 1061 Attend Reunion At Stratford The annual reunion picnic of the Aitchison family was held in Queen's Park, Stratford, August 16th, with an attend- ance of 60. Baseball and sports were en- joyed in the afternoon. The longest married couple in at- tendance was Mr. and Mrs. John Aitchison of Sarnia and the oldest member present was John Aitchison. Those attend- ing were from Sarnia, Brant- ford, Kitchener, Toronto, Weston, Ancaster, Hanover and Wingham. The president, Horace Ait- chison, conducted the business and the election of a new slate of officers for the coming year. It was decided to hold the 1965 picnic in Stratford in August. Those attending from Wing - ham were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Aitchison and Kenny and Mr. and Mrs, Horace Aitchison, Larry, Linda and Paul Aitchi- son, Clinton Golfers Win Trophy The annual Royal Canadian Legion Zone Cl golf tourna- ment was held at the Wingham Golf Club on Saturday, August 22. The host branch was Clin- ton. Eleven teams were entered, They were from Wingham, Hensall, Seaforth, Goderich and Clinton, Winners of the Labatt Trophy were Harold McPherson, Robert Draper, Pat McMahon and Len Arnston of Clinton with a tram score of 323, A Goderich team was in second place with 329 and Clinton and Goderich tied for third with 3.3. Wingham had :344, Low individual scores were Ralph Kingswell of Goderich and Jim Graham of Clinton with 75's.
