Mr, and Mrs. Jim Henderson and Junior of Brant- ford. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emer- son left Saturday by train for Lenore, Manitoba, and other places in the west. They hope to visit in British Columbia he - fore returning home by the middle of September. Mrs. Maud Ilaggitt has gone to visit her sister, Miss Lila Emerson, while Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson are away. Miss Ann Weber spent a few days last week with her friend, Miss Nancy Mason, Mrs. Orville Tiffin return- ed to her home in Whitechurch after spending a few days at the home of her son, Mr, and Mrs. Joseph Tiffin and family. There will be no service in the Whitechurch United Church on August 16. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bartman of Palmerston visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Carl A, Weber and family. Mrs. Cameron Simmons of London visited last week with her father, Mr. Charles Martin, and Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Scholtz and other relatives in the dis- trict. On Friday evening Mrs, Walter Moore attended a mis- cellaneous shower for Miss Joyce Ladd of Southampton at Wroxeter, at the home of Mrs, Tom Bennett, Mr, and Mrs. Jacob Kuiper, Raymond, Paul and Dick and Mrs, Bertha DeGroot visited Sunday afternoon with Rev.Johr and Mrs. Sehriel of Campbell- ville and on Monday visited at Guelph with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Vanderherg, Miss Edna Carr of Wingham visited on Thursday with Mrs. Russel Ross.
