Cloak And Dagger? No!
BUT THERE IS MORE TO GOOD AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE THAN MEETS THE
EYE! For example: You probably will never see these gas storage tanks which
will be buried deep' underground. This is just another one of the many hidden
aspects of providing top-notch service.
FIRST AID DEMONSTRATIONS were part
of the program at the inspection of the
students taking the summer militia course
here this summer. The inspection was
made at the passing -out ceremony last

machinery continue to t.
ny lives or cause injuries'on,
result in costly medical hilt,
and lost time, observes J. L,
'Thompson, of the federal ex-
perimental farm at Swift Cur-
rent, Saskatchewan.
Most, he adds, could he
prevented by a little care and
thought un the part of the oper
ators.
Mr. 'Thompson offers some
suggestions for keeping the
farrn a safe and happier p l a, e.
Because fatigu. breeds care-
lessness, machinery operators
should take regular "breaks"
when working long hours.
CarelesAiess all too often
has resulted in a tractor driver
being fatally crushed beneath
his overturned machine -- usu-
ally because he turned too
sharply at high speeds or took
uunecesary chances when op-
t rating, the tractor on the side
of a hill or embankment.
Moving belts, chains, gears
and shafts that are improperly
shielded are invitations to mis-
haps, especially if loose cloth-
ing is worn while working near
therm.
Attempting to repair or ad-
just a machine while it is run-
ning is an obvious danger, but
many accidents stern from this
practice, observes Mr. Thomp-
son.
