western city of Vau,,,,,ver, 13,C.
Its little theatres and musical
production centres :,,, among
the finest in the world, not to
mention its top television en-
tertainment. We have never
had too much chance to see
their television productions,
with the exception of an odd
variety show here and there,
"Some of Those Days" was
probably the best example of
the superior quality of their
variety shows and the talent of
their stars,
Although some like Juliette
and The Rhythm Pal, have
moved to places like Toronto
to find greener pastures, many
others have left Eastern Cana-
da's stages and rehearsal studios
and found fame and fortune
there. This summer, though
sadly,. "Some of Those Days" is
not back with us, there are
two worthwhile summer re-
placements on the CBC agenda.
The first is "Chorus Anyone", a
Mitch Miller -type sing -along
show seen on Sunday evenings
at 7:30, the old "Flashback"
slot. It features a group of
male singers in old familiar
tunes and the louder you sing -
along -with -them the more en-
joyment you gain from the show.
They are good enough singers,
though in many of the numbers,
not any more spectacular than
Wingham's own Harmony ..len,
They enjoy their work, though,
and that goes a long way.
1 ost for the show is Edward
;Ted) Greenhalgh, and he
should be home watching in -

The second \'auiouver pro-
duction, and one which I thick
is one of the two best summer
replacements this year, is Wed-
nesday evening's "Camera
West", a documentary about
many things of interest in Brit-
ish Columbia and the Prairie
Provinces. Their topics are
timely and intere,ting andgen-
erally concern every citizen of
Canada. Last week's episode
was about the effects of certain
chemicals, like 1.5D, on the
human mind and body. The
subject was a free-lance writer
undergoing treatment for al-
coholism in a mental hospital
out west, This series provides
something of value each week,
so if you haven't made it a hab-
it as yet, do begin to now.

The finest production to he
seen on the CIBC: this summer is
the Country Hoedown replace-
ment, "A Place For Everything:
This is one that the entire fami-
ly can enjoy. It deals with' the
world of nature, and as the title
suggests, the careful organiza-
tion of everything in that world.
Montreal actor Budd Knapp is
the very capable narrator. A
recent former task for Mr.Knapp
was narrating the 18th Century
Henry Fielding novel " Tom
Jones" on CBC -Radio.

If the pert, pixie -faced
'Yvette' on last week's Kraft
"Suspense Theatre" rang a bell
with you, let me jog yourmem-
ory. It was Annie Farge, the
French star who had her ownser-
ies "Angel" on CBS and CBC a
few years ago. In that series
which only lasted one season,
she played the French wife of
an American businessman, and
learning a new, language and a
new way of life created nothing
but problems for her. [ thought
it was a cute series and could
never. figure out why it didn't
last. bliss Farge (former wife
of dancer Dyke Sanders) was a
natural for the part and a real
doll. Seemed hard to imagine
her in anything hut a comedy
role. Her role in last week's
Kraft show was anything hut
funny, though she handled it
with the same ease and charm
as any comedy part. Her co-
star was Jack Kingman, one of
America's hest TV actors, who
won last year's Emmy for 'best
actor'.
