ANOTHER LINK with the past is being re-
moved in Gorrie with the dismantling of
the shed at the rear of the United Church.
It could not be determined how old the
structure actually is, but it is certainly
well on in years for the beams are hand-
hewn timber and are joined with wooden

holiday with their grandmother.

side visited on Sunday with Mr.

stein of Toronto are holidaying
at her home with Mr. and Mrs,
Russel Gaunt and at his home
with Mr. and Mrs. Dirstein of
Hanover. On Sunday Mr. and
Mrs. Ken Currie and family,

Leah Currie of Wingham, Mr.
and Airs. Russel Gaunt and Mr,
and Mrs. Don Dirstein all held
a family picnic at Kincardine
Beach.

friends held a picnic at Kincar-
dine on Sunday.
Mr, and Mrs. Cameron Sim-
mons and Ronnie of London
spent Civic Holiday with Mr.
and Mrs. Ezra Schnitz, Mr.
Charles Martin, and Mr. and
Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw. Miss Nan-
cy Simmons did not accompany
them as she is employed at a
restaurant at Springhank.

will hold a special outdoor
meeting Thursday afternoon at
o'clock at the home of Mrs.
Alex Robertson.

with Nir. and Mrs. Edgar Gaunt.

of London were Sunday callers

Mrs. George Fisher, who is
taking a short course at Toronto
spent the week -end at her
home here, She will complete
her course this Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Morrison,
Arnold, Douglas, Joyce and
Miss Linda Nickel visited on
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Huffman. The girls remained
for a week's holidays.

don spent the week -end with
Mr. Gary Chapman.
Mr. and Mrs. Jaynes Wilson
of London visited an Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. llugh Simp-
son, and Karen, who had been
holidaying here, returned home
with them.

er, Nit,, Orville Tiffin, who

toria Hospital, was permitted
to return home with hint to his
home where she is cantalescing
at present.

ters visited at Honey Harbour
on Wednesday with is, Doreen

nolds who are employed at a
resort there for rite summer

ding in Wingham on Saturday
afternoon,
Mothers Attend Closing
Program at Bible School
WHITIiCIIt'RCI On Friday
the two weeks' Vacation Bible:
School, held at the home of
NIrs. James Richardson, came
to a close. The closing pro-
gram opened with a chorus sung
by all. Mr. Jacob Kuiper of-
fered prayer and a welcome so
song was sung. Mrs. Richard-
son welcomed everyone and
introduced the guests.
The helpers were Mises
Alma Conn, Wendy Reynolds,
Janette Johnston, Pat Coulter,
Sandra and Nlary Hayden, and
Nirs, Conlan,
The beginners gave memory
verses they had learned in their
daily lessons. The juniors re-
peated the Book: of the Old
Testament. The intermediate
class repeated eight verses of
Isaiah 5:3, The seniors gave an
outline of their lessons illustrat-
ed with choruses and flannel
graph.
Part singing was given by the
beginners and juniors with the
seniors taking the special part.
A sword drill was enjoyed.
A reference to a verse was
given and the first to find it
read the va'rse, Prizes of books
were given for memory work.
Certificates were presented to
74 who had perfect attendance
or had missed just one day.
The lowest attendance was
opening day with 77. On four
day; over 00 attended and the.
highest attendance was 94.
Refreshments of cookies and
freshie were served to the chil-
dren while the mothers viewed
the work done by the children.
Then the 34 mothers and Air.
Kuiper were served while the
ch,ldren played games.
