Miss Winnifred Farrier is
this week attending the south-
ampton School of Fine Arts.
Mr, and Mrs. Ben McClen-
ag;han have returned to the
home of Mrs, A, J. Walker of
Wingham.
On Saturday Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Tiffin, Mr. Orville Tif-
fin, Mr. Barry Tiffin and Mr,
and Mrs, Dan Tiffin visited
with Mrs. Orville Tiffin, a pa-
tient in Victoria Hospital, in
London.
Mr, and Mrs. Clark Johnson
of Belgrave were Sunday visit-
ors with Mr. and Mrs, Charles
Tiffin,
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne McAlli-
ster of Culross were Friday eve-
ning visitors with Mr. and Mrs,
Wesley Tiffin.
Miss Mary Purdon of Kitch-
ener is holidaying this week
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs,
W. R. Purdon.
Mr. and Mrs. John McInnes
of Bluevale, Mr. and Mrs. Dan
Tiffin and Joyce visited Monday
evening with Mrs. Orville Tif-
fin of Victoria Hospital, Lon-

siting their grandmother, visit-
ed on Sunday with Nir. and
Mrs. Floyd Bott of Bellwood.

visit with Mr. and Mrs. Bott.

Gravel Tenders
Asked by Council
Turnberry Council passed a
motion to call for tenders for
supplying, hauling and spread-
ing gravel on the B line from
Moffatt's bridge to the bound-
ary between Wingham and
Turnberry.
A petition was accepted
from James Breckenridge for a
clean out on a branch of the
Cruikshank drain from where it
starts at Percy Biggs to the
street in front of Lionel Ma -
hood's property. The drainage
engineer was requested to make
a survey.
A bylaw for licensing, regu-
lating and governing salvage
shops, salvage yards, second-
hand goods shops and dealers in
second-hand goods was passed
and the seal of the corporation
attached.

day visitors with her brother,

and Janis visited on Sunday with

Mr. and Mrs. Trevett and
family of Port Elgin were Sun-
day visitors at the home of Mr.
Charles Martin.
Mr. Bevin Tiffin while as-
sisting Mr. John Gaunt on Thurs-
day afternoon at the sawmill
had the misfortune in some
manner to allow the middle
finger on his left hand to come
in contact with the saw which
cut a gash in it necessitating
his confinement to Wingham
and District Hospital until as-
sured there is no infection.
On Wednesday evening
Whitechurch Juniors and Wing -
ham Intermediate softball teams
played on the Wingham dia-
mond. The score was White-
church 1, Wingham 0.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kuiper,
Raymond, Paul, Dick, and
Mrs. Bertha De Groot left on
Wednesday for a week's visit
with friends in Holland, Mich.
Children Meet
In Community Hall
WHITECHURCH—The Chil-
dren of the Church, Langside,
met in the community hall on
Sunday with an attendance of
25. The president, Miss Carol-
ine Wall, presided and pianist
was Miss Marian Wall.
The Scripture was read by
John De Boer. Prayer was giv-
en by George Moffat. The
secretary, Donald Moffat read
the minutes. Nancy De Boer
offered prayer.
Mrs. Dave Moffat gave the
story from the study book.
Simon De Boer will be pre-
sident for the August meeting
to be held the first Sunday in
August.
Graduates
At Strathroy
WIIITECIVRCH—Miss Donna
May Gillespie, daughter of
N1r. and Mrs. Jack Gillespie of
Sarnia, graduated on Friday
evening as a certified nursing
assistant at Strathroy. There
were 04 in her class.
The ceremony took place in
Strathroy United Church wirers
Rev. R. T. A, Marshall offered
prayer at the opening and clos-
ing exercises.
Nliss Gillespie will join the
nursing staff of Sarnia General
Hospital next Monday.
Visiting with N1r. and Mrs,
Gillespie on Friday and attend-
ing the graduation were Miss
Winnifred Farrier, Mrs. Eunice.
Gillespie, Mrs. W. R. Farrier,
Mrs. Garnet Farrier and Miss
Janis Farrier of Whitechurch.
