at this time announced that she
would leave the bright lights,
glamour and the successful car-
eer she had found in Hollywood,
for the dedicated cloistered
life of a nun. She left behind
her a number of good motion

number of friends, a stack of
unread movie scripts, a long
line of producers and directors
eager to sign her, and a broken
engagement to businessman Don
Robinson. She disappeared be-
hind the doors of the Bethlehem
monastery, and during the past
year has been allowed only to
correspond with friends on the
outside, and allowed to partici-

Richard Burton's "Hamlet",
which was to have closed on
Broadway and begun a cross-
country tour last month, has
now been held over until Au-
gust 8th because of its enormous
success. The play was even
more successful than they first
thought it would be, and Burton
has received plaudits from all
the critics for his performance
in the title role. His recently -
garnered publicity hasn't hurt
his box-office appeal one little
bit. When he could not appear
and his stand-in replaced him,
members of the audience re-
quested their money back; they
wanted to see no one but Rich-
ard in the play. Mrs. Burton,
whom you will probably re-
member as Elizabeth Taylor,
has managed to keep out of the
news for awhile. But it was an-
nounced that the couple is init-
iating a Richard Burton Haemo-
philia Fund and they will do
anything and go anywhere in
order to help this worthy cause.
Burton himself is a sufferer of
the disease.
Following the run of " Ham-
let (the tour has been cancelled),
the Burtons will probably be re-
turning to movie work. Pro-
ducers and directors are cla-
mouring for theta to do a num-
ber of different pictures. Start-
ler Baker wants there to star to-
gether in "Sands of Kalahari",
and they have also keen men-
tioned to co-star itt klc:M's filum

novel " Lady Chatterley>'s Lover
