Mr. and Mrs. Peterson lived here for a time. Visitors over the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Walter El- liott were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mitchell of Livonia, Michigan, and on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Bill MacPherson, Beverley, Gail, Janet, Margaret, Stephen and Larry, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Campbell, Bradley, Scott, Robert and Brent of Belgrave. Mr. Oliver McBrien and Mr. Percy Anstran of Goderich visited Friday with Mr, and Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw and Misses Annie and Mary Laidlaw. Miss Sandra Hill is assisting for the holiday months at the home of Mr, Charlie Falconer of Glamis. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Scholtz visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Scholtz ofDun- gannon. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Coup - land and Kevin of Toronto spent the week -end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robinson of East Wawanosh. Mrs. Frank Coulter and Alex visited on Sunday with Miss Mabel Purdon at the On- tario Hospital, Goderich. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weber, Ann, Marlene and Clare visit- ed Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chambers and Mr, and Mrs. Mock of Harriston. Mr. and Mrs, Carl McClen- aghan visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Maclntyre of Ridgetown, and Mr, and Mrs. Ben McClenaghan who had been visiting there for three weeks, returned home with them. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. George Walker were Mr. John Snell of Brandon, Manitoba, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Walker and family of Teeswa- ter. The United Church will hold its Sunday School picnic July 18 at the end of Con 12, Ash- field on the shore of Lake Hu- ron. The congregation and all children are invited to at- tend and will leave around 2 o'clock. Mr. George Conn has gone to the University of Western Ontario, London, where he is spending six weeks on a special course in algebra. Mrs. Alex Coutts and Nor- ma of Wingham were Sunday evening visitors with Robert Ross. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Coll- yer attended the wedding in Gorrie Saturday afternoon of his nephew, Mr. Ted Collyer and Miss Sandra Edgar. They will live in Kitchener where the groom is a bank employee and the bride is a registered nurse, Mrs. Stewart Plunkett of Goderich spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Col- lyer. Mr, and Mrs. Nelson Smith of Markham are visiting with his sister, Mrs. Russel Chap- man and Mrs. Chapman. Mr. and Mrs, Albert Coultes visited on Sunday with Mrs. Jack Coultes of Belgrave and attended the memorial services in Brandon Cemetery. Mr, and Mrs. Jack Morrison, Donald, Joyce, Arnold and Douglas were Sunday visitors with Mr, and Mrs. Lloyd Huff- man of Goderich. Mrs. Mabel Stapelton is vi- siting with her daughter, Mrs, Tom Jamieson and Mr. Jamie- son. Mr. Bevin Tiffin is assisting Mr. Albert Coultes withcement work for the holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tiffin, Joan, Shirley, Joe and Mr. Or- ville Tiffin were in London on Sunday visiting Mrs. Orville Tiffin, a patient in Victoria Mrs. William Conn Was in 94th Year WHITECHURCH-Mrs. Will- iam Conn of R. R. 5, Lucknow died in Wingham and District Hospital on Wednesday of last week. She had been ill only a short time. Mrs, Conn would have celebrated her 94th birth- day on July 5. The former Eliza Ann John- ston was the daughter of the late John Johnston and Mary Ann Taylor. She attended school at S. S. 10 Kinloss and on January 8, 1898, married Mr. Conn, He died in 1943. Mrs. Conn is survived by two sons, Wallace and Johnston Conn, both of Kinloss; two daughters, Mrs. Hardie (Lulu) Simpson of Teeswater and Mrs. Harold (Laura) Johnstone of Parkhill; a sister, Mrs. Kath- erine Hutchison of Wingham; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was a member of Chal- mers Presbyterian Church, in Whitechurch. Rev, Charles D. Cox of Teeswater officiated on Friday afternoon when funeral service was held at the S. J. Walker funeral home with interment in Wingham Cemetery. Pallbearers were Al Sim- mons, Douglas Williams, James Richardson, Russell Ross, Mer- vyn Templeman and Tom New- ton. Mr. and Mrs. George Mc- Innes, Melvin and Gary of Lucknow, visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Tiffin. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Farr- ier, Linda, Dale and Douglas of Kitchener visited on Sunday with Mrs. W. R. Farrier. Miss Linda remained for a holiday with her grandmother. Miss Winnifred Farrier of To- ronto is holidaying with her mother, Mrs. W. R. Farrier. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hand, Donna, heather, Rickey and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Hand and family spent the week -end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Band of Collingwood. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kuiper, Raymond, Paul, Dick and Mrs. De Groot spent Thursday and Friday at Niagara Falls and while there visited with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Heeg of Jarvis. Mr. Worden Howald of Lucknow is this week at Chal- mers Presbyterian Church re- building the chimney, which a year ago was shattered by light- ning. On Sunday, Rev. Harry Waite of Atwood was the prea- cher at Chalmers Presbyterian Church and baptized Dick Ger- ard, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kuiper. Rev. Waite will be the pre acher for the next two Sundays while Mr. Kuiper is on holidays. Mr, and Mrs. Angus Falcon- er, Allan and Kevin of Streets- ville, spent the week -end with his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin and Mrs. Myrtle Dawson spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Henderson of Brant- ford. Mrs. Claude Coffin left on Friday for Montreal from where she will accompany her son, Richard and his wife, to Joe Batts Arm, Newfoundland, to visit her mother-in-law, Mrs. Coffin. Mr, and Mrs. Jacob Muil- wyk and Barbara of Morris Township visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Beecroft. Mrs. George Fisher left on Sunday for Toronto where she will attend summer school. Her course will be Junior Education. Mrs. Dan Tiffin and Mr. Joe Tiffin were in London on Thursday at Victoria Hospital to visit his mother, Mrs. Orvil- le Tiffin, who had that day un- dergone surgery. The Mildmay Midgets and Whitechurch Midgets played on Whitechurch diamond Thursday evening with the score 11-2 in favour of Mildmay. Mrs. Maud Haggitt of Brus- sels returned on Saturday to vi- sit with Mr. and Mrs, Victor Emerson for a few weeks. Mr. and Mrs, Fetish Moffat of Wingham spent Wednesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Geo., Fisher. Mr. and Mrs. Ross MacGreg- or of Toronto are spending their holidays here. Last week was spent at a cottage at Kincar- dine and accompanying them were Mrs. Walter Arscott, Misses Valerie, Andrea and Pa - MISS HAZEL LEMONT, of R. Miss Ann Rintoul of Kitchen- er spent the week -end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Rintoul. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gaunt of Londesboro were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Gaunt. Debbie Elliott of Ripley is holidayingwith her cousin,Lori Miller, this week. Annual Picnic Held at Gorrie WHITECHURCH-On Wed- nesday, July 1st, the Falconer- Mclnnes picnic was held atGor- rie Park, the home town of the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Tom McInnes. The afternoon was spent re- newing acquaintances and re- miniscing, A program of races and contests was enjoyed. An outstanding race was the Time Race where they walked as far as they could in one minute. This was won by John Falconer of Kitchener. Those who had died during the year were Mrs. Mary Jane Tiffin of Langside, Mrs. Min- nie. McKee of B.C. , Mr. Ron- ald Falconer, son o f Mrs, George Falconer and the late George Falconer of Kitchener, Lyle Mclnnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. George McInnes of Luck - now, and a minutes' silence was observed in their memory. A collection was received to purchase flowers for Mrs. Or- ville Tiffin, who was admitted to Victoria Ilospital, London, and would undergo surgery the next day. The oldest man present was Billie McInnes of Walkerton and runner-up was his brother, James McInnes of Whitechurch. The oldest lady was Mrs. John Falconer of Kitchener and run- ner-up was Mrs. Billie McInnes of Walkerton. In charge of the recreation were Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Fal- coner of Toronto. The assist- ant secretary was Mrs. George Fisher. The lunch committee Mrs. Morley Pettaplace and Mn and Mrs. Totn McInnes served lunch to about '75 attenders. The officers elected for1965 are: President, Tom McInnes of Gorrie; 1st vice, Dan Tiffin, Whitechurch; recreation com- mittee, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fal- coner, Kitchener; sec. -treas., Mr. and Mrs. John McInnes, Bluevale; lunch committee, Mrs. Cecil Falconer and Mrs. Nora Cronin of Caledon. Mr. Harry and Miss Betty Hayes of Birmingham, Michi- gan, visited this week with Mr. and Mrs, Russel Ritchie, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tiffin. 35th Anniversary ST. HELENS -Mr. and Mrs. John Cameron celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary over the week -end, On Sunday, Mr, and Mrs. Don Cameron entertained at a family dinner at Tiger Dunlop Inn, Present for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. James Doug- las, Mrs. David Bart, Brenda and Brian of Mitchell; Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Douglas of Lon- don, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Durnin of St. Helens and Mr, and Mrs. Don Cameron, Barbara and Co- lin and Mr. and Mrs. Cameron. Later in the afternoon they all returned to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Cameron for a so- cial get-together. Mr. and Mrs, Russel Ritchie, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tiffin and and Mrs. Fred Tiffin spent Sun- day with Mr. and Mrs, Sidney Payne of Toronto, at their sum- mer cottage at Bell Ewart, on Lake Simcoe. Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Well - wood and Mrs. Nora Cronin of Caledon visited this week with Mrs. Cecil Falconer.
