Mr. and Mrs. Bert Garniss and family of second line, Mor- ris have moved to Belgrave. They will be greatly missed in Bluevale and community. Senior pupils of Kirton's, Bluevale and Gilmo,ur'senjoyed a bus trip to Niagara Falls last week. Mr. Harvey Messer, of Toronto, is spending holidays at his summer home here, Visitors during the week with Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Mc- Kinnon were Mr, Jim Sebert, of London, and Mr, Cecil Mc- Kinnon of Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. J. K. McTavish and fam- ily of London, visited at the same home at the week -end. John McTavish will spend his holidays in forestry work atSud- bury, Rev. T. E. Kennedy and Mrs. Kennedy started on their vacation on Monday, motoring to Ajax and points east, Reeve A. D. Smith, chair- man of the historical commit- tee of Huron County Council, attended the annual meeting of the Ontario Historical Society at Brantford recently, A ban- quet was served by one of the Women's Institutes of the In- dian Reserve there. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Mc- Murray spent Sunday at Delhi. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Mid- hurst visited for a few days with their aunt, Mrs. Catherine Dobie, and Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Johnston. Mr. and Mrs. Thal Bailey and children and Miss Heather Bailey of Oak Lake, Sask., vi- sited with Mr. and Mrs. Burns Moffatt last week. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gol- ley had a family reunion cele- brating the 110th anniversary of the family farm in Mortis, on Sunday, It was settled first by Mr. Golley's grandfath- er... —Mr. and Mrs. Garry Leeson and children of Ottawa visited Mr. and Mrs. Golley and at- tended the reunion on Sunday. The Bluevale Women's In- stitute will hold an evening meeting at the home of Mrs. George Lowis on July 8th. The 4-H Club girls will give demon- strations. Donations will be re- ceived for the Golden Circle School in Wingham. Miss Julia Thornton return- ed to Ottawa with Mr. and Mrs. Garry Leeson, Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Smith and Mr. and Mrs, George Lowis were at Wasaga Beach on Sun- day. Mr. William N. Robertson is a patient in Wingham and District Hospital. STRAWBERRY TEA BLUEVALE-Unit Three of L'. C. W, of Bluevale United Church held a strawberry tea on Wednesday of last week, preceded by a sale of baking, Mrs, G. C. Mitchell opened the sale. A social time was enjoyed and delicious refresh- ments were served, Lakelet Mr. and Mrs, Donald Mc- Kinnon of Paisley were Sunday visitors with Mr, and Mrs, Jas. Inglis. Mr, James Inglis, Jr., of Guelph is spending the summer months at his home here, Mr, and Mrs, David Mor- rison and family of Holstein visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Derril Hallman on Sun- day, Mrs, Herb Pross and daughters, Elaine and Shirley of Detroit, were guests at the homes of Mr, and Mrs, Delmar Dickert and Mr, and Mrs. Jack Inglis on Thursday and Friday, The annual Dickert fami- ly reunion was held at the Moorefield park on Sunday with an attendance of one hundred. Mr, and Mrs. Eldon Bridge and family of Drayton visited with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mc- Comb on Sunday. Mrs. Cecil Chamney of Wingham and Mr. Bert Thomp- son of Belgrave visited Sunday at the same home, Mr. Hugh Jefferson of Port Arthur, who has been spending a few days with his uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jefferson and family and other relatives re- turned Sunday to his job at Pe- terborough. Mr. and Mrs, George Reeves of Toronto visited over the week -end with Mrs. James Leddy and visited Mr, James Leddy, who is in Wingham and District Hospital with bronchi- tis. Mr. Sam Jefferson and Donnie of Newmarket and Miss Irene Jefferson of Dunnville vi- sited with their brother, Mr, and Mrs. Hilliard Jefferson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bail- ey, Clarence and Donna Jean of Oaklake, Manitoba, have spent the past week with Mrs. Bailey's uncle, Mr, David Mc- Allister and visited her aunt, Miss Josephine McAllister, who is a patient in Wingham and District Hospital with pneu- monia. Mr, Arnold and Miss Heather Bailey, nephew and niece of Mr. Bailey who carne with them, are visiting other relatives in the district. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Hender- son, Billie, Gayle and Laurie of Brucefield spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Stuart Chamney and family, Mr, and Mrs, John Noble and family, who have spent the past six months in Parkhill, moved back to their home in St. Augustine recently. Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Cham- ney and family were London vi- sitors on Monday. Nethery Clan Held Reunion BELGRAVE-The 19th an- nual Nethery reunion was held at Londesboro community centre on Saturday with 110 members signing the register. Abner Nethery of Wingham was in charge of the sports and races, which were enjoyed by all. Guests were present from Niagara Falls, Hamilton, Burl- ington Michigan, Waterloo. The prize for coming the longest distance went to Mr. and Mrs, Garfield Leishman from Caro, Michigan. A watermelon treat for the children was given by Alex Nethery, of Burlington and gifts of salt were received by all pre- sent from Percy Barker, of God- erich. Following the supper hour the president, Mrs. Grant Bearss of Niagara Falls, took charge of the meeting, Officers elected for next year were Ernie Noble, Brussels, president and Mary Isabel Nethery, Belgrave, sec- retary. Returning from Wingham and District Hospital during the past week were Andrew Gaunt, W. I. Miller and G. A. Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Fred McQuil- lin and Mr, and Mrs, Frank Mc- Quillin were guests on Saturday at a wedding in Elmira, Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs, Allan Miller were Mr. and Mrs. Alan Whytock, Nancy, Murray and Gail of Teeswater. PERROTT- To Mr, and Mrs. Ron- ald Perrott (Joan Forster) in Goderich Hospital on June 22, 1964, a daughter, sis- ter for Rhonda and Mary Jo. E. Wawanosh Farmer Dies Walter Scott McGowan, 66, of East Wawanosh Township, died Thursday in Wingham and District Hospital, He was a lifelong resident of the town- ship. Mr. McGowan is survived by his sister, Mrs. Annie Hors - ford, who lived with hitn on his farm.
