and dance was held in the Ford-
wich community hall on Friday
night in honor of Mr. and Mrs.
George Merkley (Phyllis Wilson)
newlyweds,
They were presented with
a bronze kitchen suite and mo-
ney. Miss Dianne Kaster read
the address. They both made
suitable replies and Lambkrir's
orchestra supplied music for
dancing.

their general store to Mr. and
Mrs. Theodore (Ted) Klaassen
of Aylmer. it is 15 years this
October since Bill and Pearl
came to Fordwich, from Toron•
to.
Mr. and Mrs. Klaassen
have four children, Hanna 14,
Garry, 12, Wert 9 and Theo-
dore 1. Mr, Klaassen is an in-
terior decorator 'and sign paint-
er. The family moved over the
week -end and took over the
business on Tuesday, Mr. K1aas-
sen will join his wife and chil-
dren a little later.
Mr. and Mrs. Marriner
will continue to operate the
bowling alley and will reside on
the farm they purchased a year
ago from Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Johnston.

ter from "The Word and the
Way" and Sharon Fitch gave an
interesting reading.

when it was decided to hold a
farewell picnic on Sunday after-
noon for Ret. Howard Pace and
family who are moving to a
new charge,
Mrs. Joseph Simmons read
