WINGHAM
LAST WEDNESDAY "Dutch" Ducharme
brought us some Canadian orchids which
he found growing in a swamp area in the
Alps. There were four stalks, each with
four blooms. Commonly called lady's slip-
per, the species is becoming quite rare.
It is easily recognized by the large pouch
which serves as a dining room where the
bees feast on nectar.
