"Sapphire" Roses
On Wedding Cake
i surprise party was held for
Mr. and Airs. Gordon fiiggins
of R. R. 5, Brussels, at the home
of their eldest son, Jack R.
Higgins on Thursday.
The evening was spent in
playing progressive euchre with
40 relatives and neighbours pre-
sent. Mr. and Mrs. Higgins
were seated near their three -
tiered wedding cake,, which was
decorated with blue toned roses
to represent sapphire, on their
45th wedding anniversary.
An address was read by
Stewart Procter and several
gifts were presented to the
happy couple.
Mr. Higgins made a very
fitting reply of thanks and all
enjoyed a friendly chat while

and Mrs. George Procter of
Morris Township. The groom
is a son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Elijah Higgins of Wing -
ham, who formerly lived in
Morris and Turnberry Township.
