Willing Workers Meet
W'ROXF TFR-- Mrs, Ross Sand-
erson and Mrs, William Me-
Lt'an were in charge of the
Willing Workers' meeting last
week when twelve members
and two visitors attended. Mrs.
Sanderson gave the call to wor-
ship and the commentary on
the Scripture message, which
was read by Mrs. McLean.
Mrs. Rat' Lc'utitt Conducted
the business, when reports were
given and Mrs, F, Taylor was
chosen as a representative to
Alma College in August. A
committee was set up to cater
to a banquet in thefall. Mrs.
K. Bennett and Mrs. ti, Coup -
land will be in charge of the
September meeting.
Mrs. McLean gave the chap
ter from the study book. "Re-
surrection and Life to Come",
A quilting and a pot luck sup-
per followed.
Dies Three Days After 50th Anniversary
WRQXETER—Gavin Muir,
who had been ill for the p *fl
three months, died on Saturday
in the Wingham and District
Hospital where both he and his
wife had been patients. Three
days earlier they had observed
their 50th wedding anniversary
when members of the hospital
staff served refreshments to
friends and relatives in the pa-
tients' dining room.
Mr. Muir was 90 years of

late William Muir and Mary
Ann Jordan of Ilowick Township.
He was a carpenter, head
sawyer at the saw mill, and a
thresher for 43 years. He held
third class stationary engin-
eer's papers, Mr, Muir con-
tinued to do carpentry until
just the past few years,
Mrs, Muir, the former Mary
Ellen Smith of Wroxeter, mar-
ried her husband on June 17,
1914, at the Presbyterian manse
in Gorrie, She is his only sur-
vivor.
The funeral was held on
Monday afternoon at the Moir
funeral home in Coale, with
Rev, F, • Taylor officiating. In-
terment was in Wroxeter Ceme-
tery, Pallbearers were Howard
Wylie, Robert Gipson, Art Gip-
son, James Doig, Lloyd Hupfer
and Ken Edgar,
