Mr, and Mrs, Thos. Fields, Kathy and Wendy, Lambeth, and Mr, Wm. Close, Ethel, visited Saturday with Mr, and Mrs. Cameron Edgar. The Gorrie- Wroxeter Scouts and Cubs attended the annual Maitland District parade for Scouts, Cubs, Guides and Brownies on Sunday at Palmer- ston United Church. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Edgar, Wingham, visited Mr. and Mrs. •Morley Bell on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Edgar and Brian, Brampton, spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Edgar. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Walker and Brian, Brampton, spent the week -end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Taylor. Miss Margaret Dane, Grand Ftsairie Alta., accompanied by Mrs. Lorne Walker arrived in Ontario on Thursday and are visiting at the same home. Mrs. Harry Adams, Wrox- eter, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bartman, Kurtzville, visited Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. L, McInnes. Mr, Russell Bridge visited Saturday evening at the same home. Mr. Albert Heibein is a pa- tient in Wingham and District Hospital. Rev. and Mrs. G. A. Ander- son were in Port Credit on Sat- urday attending a wedding of a friend. Mr, and Mrs. Ed. Newton accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hart of Wroxeter to spend the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hart of Oshawa. Mr. and Mrs. Wes Under- wood visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Alan Underwood of Uxbridge. Miss Jean MacDonald, Lon- don, spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. W. C. King,. Hostess WHITECHURCH- The UCW held their June meeting Wed- nesday at the home of Mrs. Albert Coultes. Mrs. Russel Gaunt was in charge of the worship service and is convener of membership and community friendship. The theme of the meeting was, "Every time I feel the Spirit." Mrs. Gaunt gave the ' call to worship and prayer. Mrs. Elwood Groskorth read t h e Scripture. Hymns were sung. Mrs. Ezra Scholtz read sto- ries from the booi<, "Out - Reach", on the FriendshipCen- tre, Iroquois' prayer, Roman Catholic and Protestant reli- gions in Canada and other to- pics. Mrs, Millan Moore re- cited poems, "Little Town" and "Be a Friend". The roll call was answered bya verse of Scripture with word Brother. Mrs. Clarence Ritchie ex- pressed her thanks to the U. C. W. for their assistance in sup- plying lunch for the Messen- gers' meeting. All enjoyed the birthday tea.
