INVEST LEADERS
Last Wednesday evening at
the Scout House, four leaders
were invested as Scouters by
District Commissioner A. Gow-
anloci<. This ceremony re-
quires that each leader place
his hand on the Troop flag and
repeat the Scout Promise. Ross
Hastings, Hugh Sinnamon,
Charles Kennedy and Louise
Lloyd are now full-fledged lea-
ders, able to carry out all the
duties of the Troop or Packs.
BELGRAVE CUBS
Three new Cubs were in-
vested at the regular meeting
of the 1st Belgrave Cub Pack
held in the community centre
last week. The three invested
were Calvin Nixon, Dale La-
mont, Alex Cloakey. There
were 22 Cubs and four leaders
at the meeting.
Inspection followed the us-
ual opening with the Black Six
getting the most points and
their sixer, Wayne Hopper,
placed the pennant on the to-
tem pole.
Bagherra taught the new
chums, Baloo showed knot ty-
ing and Raksha taught sema-
phore to the seniors.
Several games were enjoy-
ed. Owen Fear received his
Team Player's badge and Ri-
chard Anderson received his
Artist and Guide badges. The
Cubs did the snake dance,
The church parade was an-
nounced for June 7, the parade
to start from the fair grounds
at 2:30 p. m.
Pupils Present
Program of Musid
WROXETER-The piano pu-
pils of Mrs. Art Gibson present-
ed a musical program on Fri-
day evening in the Wroxeter
United Church Sunday School.
Taking part were Debbie
Townsend, Glenis Gibson, Lor-
na Ferguson, Nancy Clarke,.
Brenda Ferguson, Lauranne
Sanderson, Arthur Gibson, Al-
lan Taylor, Carol Adams, Ja-
net de Boer, Darlene Ballagh,
Brenda Townsend, Jean Adams,
Garry Chambers, Jean Newton,
and Carol Coupland. Due to
illness, Danny Newton was un-
able to take part.
Ann Gibson and Leone
Chambers, former pupils, also
played numbers, Ann and Art
Gibson played several Don
Messer tunes.
After the program a social
half hour was enjoyed.
INTEREST WAS SHOWN in one of the or-
iginal windows of the first church in 1864
which was on display at Chalmer's Presby-
terian Church on Sunday. Three panes of
glass were still in tack. The window was
donated by Mr. Kenneth Patterson. Shown
beside the window are, left to right: John
Aitchison, a member since 1925; Victor
Emerson, an adherent .for 65 years, and
Scot Patterson, of Detroit, a son of the
donor.

Mr. Wm. Newton, Edmon-
ton, Alta., spent Sunday with
his mother, Mrs. R. Newton
and also called on Mr. and Mrs.
Thos. Newton, Mr. and Mrs.
Lyle Hart and Mr. and Mrs.
Harvey Bradshaw.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wylie
were in Toronto for the week-
end where they visited at the
home of their daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. George Bradley. Miss
Cathy Bradley returned home
with them for a visit.
Miss Ina Broadfoot, who has
been visiting the Misses Elsie
and Marion Gibson, returned to
her home in Winnipeg.
Ross Toman's accompanied
by Mr. Henry Sage of Listowel,
visited Mr. and Mrs. Boyne
Sage, 3rd Line Wallace on Sun-
day.
Mr. John Doig, Mildmay,
was taken to Owen Sound Hos-
pital on Friday.
Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Palmer
and family, London, were sup-
per guests with Mr. and Mrs.
George Gibson on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. McKay
Danny and Billy, spent the
week -end with Mr. and Mrs.
George McKay, Jamestown.
Mr. and Mrs. James Doig
were supper guests with Mr.
and Mrs. Bradley Galbraith,
Wingham, the occasion being
the wedding anniversary of the
former couple.
Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Robertson,
Jimmy and Scott, Goderich,
spent Sunday at the home of
John Hupfer.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mc-
Cutcheon of Walton, Mrs. Ol-
iver Riley, Doreen and Sharon
of Wroxeter, visited Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Griffith.
Mrs. Angus Carmichael,
Goderich, and Mr. Wm. Hart,
Wroxeter, visited Sunday with
their sister, Mrs. Alonzo Spar -
ling.
Miss Elva Hupfer of Wing -
ham spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Harvey McMichael and
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hupfer.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Hus-
ser of Listowel visited Mr. and
Mrs. Vern Clark on Saturday
evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Mc-
Cutcheon, Walton, were dinner
guests with Mr. and Mrs. Ol-
iver Riley and supper guests
with Mr, and Mrs. Lloyd Hup-
fer on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Riley
and Mr. Cliff Riley, Brussels,
visited Mr. and Mrs. Oliver
Riley Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Mof-
fatt and Mr. Paul Statia , of
Kitchener, visited at the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas
Statia.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Howes
spent the week -end with rela-
tives in Toronto and Bolton.

Unit Enjoys a
Pot Luck Supper
WROXETER-Roll call at the
Willing Workers meeting was
answered by eleven members.
Mrs. John Snell and Mrs. Les-
lie Douglas were in charge. A
hymn was sung and a Psalm
read responsively. Mrs. John
Snell led in prayer.
Mrs. Rae Loutit, leader,
took up the business. Reports
were read and Mrs. Snell and
Mrs. W. T. McLean will ar-
range for lunch the Unit will
serve for the coming U.C. W.
meeting on June 3rd.
Mrs. Douglas gave the last
program from the study book,
"One Household of Faith".
The meeting closed with the
Lord's prayer, followed by a
pot luck supper and quilting.
