The score was 17-6 for Whitechurch. Pitchers for Whitechurch were Brian Rintoul and Neil Renwick and George Gaunt and C. Hickey were catchers. Grant Coultes and Bryan Coultes were on the mound for Belgrave. The catcher was Hugh McBurney. WATER SAFETY IS A MUST FOR SWIMMERS How about your swimming? If you are going to spend part of the summer where there are opportunities for water sports, you should be able to take care of yourself in water. Many people can learn to swim in a short time and in most areas there are facilities for lessons. At the same time, learn to give artificial respiration (for this, you dont need water and there arc many opportunities for free instruction.) There was a good turn -out, especially since it was the first long wee.: -end for holidaying, The ladies of the Legion served a delicious dinner. Joe Schneider was elected president for the 64-1J5 season; Vera Schneider, secretary; Jim Bain, treasurer and Doro- thy Cameron as press secretary. Trophies presented were as follows: Season's champs, the Hurons, Doris Walker, Vicki Wild, Shirley Storey, Tom Cruickshank, Don Cameron, and Joe Schneider. Winners of the Playoffs, the Iroquois, were Ruth Lott, Isobel Burke, Irene Stainton, Gary Storey, Eric Walden and Ernie Walker. Runners -Up were the Hurons, Shirley Storey received tro- phies for the high single, high triple and high average for the year. It was a pleasure to see Shirley receive these trophies. All members of the League consider Shirley a good sport, and a true champion all the way. Norman Cameron received the trophy for high single for the men. The high triple and the high average trophy went to Jim Bain. Each year, Eric Walden pre- sents a trophy to the bowler who shows the greatest improvement This year, the trophy went to Irene Stainton, who showed all improvement of :30 points.
