and Dr. K. E. Taylor of St.
George's Church in Goderich,
Bishop Luxton addressed the
members of the Women's Aux-
iliary and the clergy at the
morning meeting when he spoke
on the Anglican World Cong-
gress. fig said a world mission
program has evolved from the
congress which is linking close-
ly the datant parts of the worl.
Ile said that a church that lives
to itself dies to itself. The
bishop appealed to those pre-
sent to support the church all
over the world. besides .,eep-
ing an equal interest in diocesan
mission wor.:,

on Sunday at :McIntosh United
Church, with 50 masons in at-
tendance. Special music was
provided by the choir and a
duet was sums by N!isses Sandra
and June Wright.

Several Social
Functions Held
For Bride -Elect
GORRIE-Miss Gwen ilynd-
man was hostess for a miscel-
laneous bridal shower, held on
Friday in the Gorrie United
Church hall, in honour of Miss
Evelyn Anne Stephens, bride-
aect of June. The Sunday
school auditorium was taste-
fully decorated with pink and
white streamers.
Several interesting and
amusing contests were enjoyed
and a very complete recipe
book was compiled from the
guests' favorite recipes. The
guest of honour, assisted by her
nieces, Misses Marilyn Grain-
ger, Debbie and Cheryl Ste-
phens, opened the gifts which
were presented in a gaily de-
corated wagon. In a few well-
chosen words, Evelyn Anne
expressed her appreciation for
the many beautiful gifts and
for the thoughtfulness of her
hostess.
Prior to this, on May 15th,
Evelyn Anne was pleasantly
surprised when her classmates
of London Teachers' College
presented her with a complete
bathroom ensemble at a bridal
shower held at the home of
Miss Marilyn Stewart, R. R,
Denfield.
On May 9th, Miss Sandra
Chamney, R. R. 1, Belgrave,
was hostess for a kitchen show-
er, when former classmates
from Wingham District High
school presented the bride -to
be with an electric floor pol-
isher, vlany other useful gifts
for the kitchen were received
from friends in the Belgrave
district.
C.G.I.T. to Hold
June Banquet
BELGRA VE - The C. G. I. T.
meeting opened with games
followed by the usual worship
service.
Nancy VanC_amp read the
rtiinutes and recorded the
church and Sunday school at-
tendance. The treasurer's re-
port was given by Joyce Proc-
ter.
A discussion was held on the
Mother and Daughter banquet
to be held June 18 and commit-
tees reamed were: Dinner, Lyn-
da Coultes, Donna Grasby,
Joyce Procter; program, Mar-
ilyn Taylor and Wendy Fear;
worship, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs.
Logan. The nett meeting will
t,e May 13';.
The group worked together
on crafts. Joyce Coultes gave
the call to worship and Audrey
Coultes read the Scripture.
Joan Bosman received the offer-
ing, Joyce gave a meditation,
"When Life Carries On".
