A hymn and prayer opened the meeting. Mrs. Curtis Jordan w•as in charge of the study hook, giving the chapter on handling disap- pointments. Mrs. Willa Doug- las read the Scripture. The roll call was answered by naming a saint from the Bible. Several members re- ported on the Golden Book for Charity which the Guild recent - 1y joined. Plans were made to cater to the Lion's Club supper next Monday. June 18 th was chosen for the annual garden party. Members decided to bowl on Wednesday night. Meeting closed with prayer and a contest was held with Mrs. Lois Simmons and Miss Ethna Foster as winners. Lunch was served by Mrs. Jor- dan and Mrs. Douglas. turned home over the week -end after spending the winter in Li- vonia, Michigan. Mrs. Pearl Patterson spent a couple days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Willoughby Pat- terson in Cooksville. Master Jeffrey Stewart, one- year -old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stewart, was confined to Palmerston hospital last week. Friends of Mrs. Lloyd Nickel will be sorry to hear she is con- fined to Palmerston Hospital, suffering from pneumonia. Mr. Gordon Angst is confined to Walkerton Hospital with vi- rus pneumonia. We wish them a speedy return to their homes. Mr. and Mrs. Mick Motter- am, Nliss Pat Mottcram and John Motteram of Hamilton and Mr. and Mrs. John Topam and Mary Elizabeth were Sunday guests with Mrs. Ruby Foster and attended the baptismal service on Sunday morning of Jacque- line Toi Foster, in Trinity Ang- lican Church. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Vittie were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stewart, Douglas and Gregory of Listowel, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Sothern, Miss Sharon Elliott and Gary Sothcrn. Mrs. Wm. Marriner and Wayne Marriner are spending a few days this week with the for- mer's mother in Peterborough. James C. Snowden Was in 80th Year James Cecil Snowden of R. R. 2, Lucknow, an invalid for the past five years, died in Wingham and District hospital on Thursday, April 2 in his8eth year, Ile was a son of the lateJohn Snowden and Martha Henry, and was born in Mona Township, Duffcrin County. Ile attended Salem School near Laurel, Amaranth Township and took up farming as his occupation. IIc• came to this district on Febru- ary 5, 1929. Lewis of Donny- brook officiated on Saturday when service was held at the R. A. Currie and Sons funeral home, with interment in Green- hill cemetery, Lucknow.
