Friendship Unit
At Munro Home
WROXVTER--The Friendship
Unit of the Wroxeter UCW met
in the home of Mrs, Allan Muir
ro on Wednesday afternoon.
The meeting was under the dir-
ection of Mrs. Jas. Doig; and
Mrs. Munro. Mrs. Doig gate
the call for worship and a hymn
was sung.
Mrs. Doig gate a reading on
"The Bonds of Peace." In a
world so fraught with trials,
troubles and dissensions this
struck a responsive chord in all
hearts. The Beatitudes were
read in unison and Mrs, Doig
led in prayer. The Scripture
was read by Mrs. Munro wtio
also gave the: study I goo < chap-
ter.
Mrs. F.W. Taylor gate an
excellent report of the Presby-
terial held in Clinton. Mrs,
Stewart Biggins had the all
occasion cards which the Unit
have on display.
Mrs. Archie Miller presided
for the business. She presented
a few timely thoughts on East-
er. The minutes of the Febru-
ary meeting were read by Mrs.
Howard Wylie. The roll call
"Patience" met with a good
response. Twelve members
responded to the roll call.
An announcement was made
concerning the Thankoffering
service to be held April 12 at
11.15 a.m. Mr. Cloete of the
high school teaching staff is to
e the guest speaker. The
meeting closed with a by mn.
The hostesses, Mrs. Munro
and Mrs. Doig provided a dain-
ty lunch and all present enjoyed
a social hour.
William A. Young
Dies in Hospital
WROXETER—William Aitkin
Young died in Wingham and
District Hospital on Friday,
March 2'7, following a short
illness.
He was the son of the late
Adam Young and Martha Aitkin
and is survived by two sisters,
Mrs. Margaret Carter of Det-
roit and Mrs. Hugh (Mary)
Smith of Toronto.
Mr. Young was a member
of the United Church.
Rev. Fred Taylor conducted
the funeral service from the
Moir funeral home. Pallbear-
ers were Oliver Stewart, Burns
Stewart, Robert Gibson, David
Draper, Gilbert Howes and
William Edgar.

To Receive New
Members Sunday
WROXETER—Mrs. Ed Martin
was at the organ and Mrs. Mur-
ray Mulvey at the piano to ren-
der lovely Easter music for the
church service in Wroxeter
United Church. The choir sang
"The Hope of Easter" and a
double duet, Mrs. Vernon Hup-
fer, Mrs. G. L. Dobson, Mrs.
Chas. McCutcheon and Mrs.
Jack Clarke sang, "When ISur-
vey the Wondrous Cross". Mem-
bers of the junior choir were in
their places and the chuich was
beautifully decorated with Eas-
ter lilies and spring flowers.
Next Sunday is Sacrament
service and new members will
be received. The following
Sunday, April 12, is UCW
Missionary Easter Thani<offering
with guest speaker Mr. Cloete
of Palmerston. There will be
special music and the quartet
will sing.
