MARSUPIALS COME
IN 125 SPECIES
The marsupial group of
mammals take their name from
the pouch of skin in which the
mother carries her young, in
most of the 125 species of
the order, Best-known is the
kangaroo. Even the largest
kind of kangaroos are not half
as large as [nice, at birth.
Other marsupials include the
wombats, bandicoots and the
North American opossum.
Marsupials differ from other
groups of mammals in several
odd anatomical ways. The
brain is also of comparatively
simple design.
