The club consists of four girls. The election of officers took place and results were as fol- lows: Pres., Janie Woods; vice- pres. , Dianne Ross; sec.-treas., Corinne Kieffer; press reporter, Karen Anne Kieffer. The girls chose the name "Belmore Faith- ful Four" for their club. Mrs. Kieffer explained the project "What Shall I Wear?"in which the girls make a blouse and study the suitability of their clothes. A demonstration of colours to suit each girl was given by Mrs. Kieffer and a discussion was held on this as each girl tried different colours. Notes were taken on colour suitability. The check sheets were com- pleted and an explaination was given on the costume chart and clothing inventory which each girl mast make. 0--0--0 BELMORE II BELMORE—The first meeting of the Belmore II club for the project "What Shall I Wear?" was held on Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. D. Mc- Pherson. The election of officers was held with the results as follows: President, Phyllis Pace; vice- president, Cheryl Haskins; treasurer, Brenda Wallace; press reporter, Mary Eadie. It was decided to hold the next meeting at Mrs. T. Met- calfe's. The topic was " Planning the Wardrobe". There were dem- onstrations by everyone. All the girls were draped in cloth to see which colour suited her best. A delicious lunch was then served by Mrs. McPherson and the meeting ajourned. 0--0--0 SUNNY PLANETTES GORRIE--The Sunny Plan- ettes held their first meeting on Friday at the home of Eliz- abeth and Judy Galbraith. The meeting opened with the pledge and motto, "Those who sew together grow together". The officers chosen are: president, Elizabeth Stokes; vice-president, Judy King; press reporter, Judy Galbraith. Mrs. Clarence Stokes, lead- er, outlined the course "What Shall I Wear?" Discussion on suitable colours for each to wear was led by the leaders. The girls took each other's measurements for the blouse each is to make. Nine girls and two leaders were present to get the club off to a success- ful start. 0--0--0 BELGRAVE I BELGRAVE—The first meet- ing of the Belgrave 4-H club, Group I was held on Saturday night in the Belgrave Library. The leaders, Mrs. Stanley Black and Mrs. Ivan Wightman opened it with the pledge and motto. Election of officers resulted as follows; President, Nancy VanCamp; secretary, every- one in turn; press reporter, Lois Rinn. Members of the group are: Nancy VanCamp, Brenda Van - Camp, Ruth Michie, Mrs. Rus- sel Fear, Marylin Taylor, Mar- lene Purdon, Donna Grasby, Linda Rinn, [.ois Rinn, Lila Black. The next meeting is on Sat- urday at 7 o'clock. Mrs. Wightman collected the notes on straight lines and Mrs. Black passed out notes on prob- lem figures. 0--0--0 BELGRAVE CLUB BELGRAVE--The first meet- ing of the Belgrave 4-11 home- making club was held on Janu- ary 28 in the cornmunity centre after school. The meeting was opened with Mrs. Clark John- ston leading the pledge and motto. The election of officers fol- lowed: President, Mary Ellen Walsh; vice-president, Linda Johnston; secretary, each girl to take a turn; press reporter, Homemaking Clubs Rhonda Fear, The leaders of this group are Mrs, Clark Johnston and Mrs. Clarence Ilanna, The Achievement Day was announc- ed and it is to be held in Clin- ton this year. The record books are to be in by March J.O. This group will do a skit or demonstration at Achievement Day. The roll call was answered with "An article from the sew- ing box". Members of this club are Doreen Pattison, Ruth Ann Pletch, Audrey Coultes, Joan Bosman, Mary Ellen Walsh, Janette Johnston, Joyce Procter, Marjorie ['Upper, Lin- da Johnston, Joyct. Hanna, Rhonda Fear. The meeting closed with taps. CUSTARD CU'I'IES WHITECHURCH--The first meeting of the Custard Cuties was held at the home of the leader, Mrs. Dan Tiffin on Monday evening. The meet- ing opened with the pledge. Present for the meeting were Misses Diane Coultes, Beverley Soloman, Sandra Fisher, Terea- sa De Bruyn, Alma Conn, Janis Farrier and Marlene Weber. The slate of officers elected was: President, Miss Diane Coultes; vice, Miss Beverley Soloman; secretary, Miss San- dra Fisher; press reporter, Miss Marlene Weber. The subject of this first meeting was "Guide To Good Eating". The demonstration with junket tablets and mix was performed by the assistant lead- er, Mrs. Tom Magoffin. The theme for Achievement Day is Plain Baked Custard and the club's exhibit is to be on The Milk Bar. The second meeting was held Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Thos. Magoffin. Due to sickness, four of the seven girls were present. The subject of the meeting was "Milk in Many Forms". The girls were shown how to pasteurize milk and a mill< drink which was hot cocoa, by the assistant leader, Mrs. Ma- goffin. Miss Marilyn Weber and Miss Sandra Fisher demon- strated the making of an egg nog. Mrs. Dan Tiffin, leader, demonstrated candy. The girls had their books completed to date. The next meeting will be held Monday at the home of Miss Diane Coultes. 0--0--0 WARDROBE WORKERS WINGI-IAM--The first meet- ing of the Wingham 4-H Club was held on Monday afternoon for the spring project "What Shall I Wear?" with Mrs. Hut- ton and Mrs. Lapp as leaders. There were nine members pre- sent, one of which is starting a project for tate first time. The election of officers re- sulted as follows: President, Barbara France; secretary, Mary Taylor for next meeting, with each taking a turn; pian - To Entertain Husbands on February 14 Last Wednesday night Mrs, Jack Gorric presided over her first meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary to the Royal Cana- dian Legion since her installa- tion as president. Mrs. Harold Ross read the minutes and the correspondence was read by Mrs (Gorge Brooks, Mrs, W. Hogg was the pianist. Plans were made for a Val- entine pot luck supper for Auxiliary members and hus- bands, with Branch members and guests invited to a card party on the same evening which will start about 8.30. Zone Commander Mrs. Wm. McCann of Fordwich will make her official visit at the Febru- ary meeting, which is to com- mence at 8.15 sharp. The membership draw was made by Mrs. Del Ewing and won by Mrs. Dave Crothers. The usual donation was made to the Provincial Command Ladies' Auxiliary Scholarship Fund. The annual reports were read by conveners of the var- ious committees. There were twelve banquets last year, a kitchen shower for a burned out Legion member in Howick, 48 boxes sent to veterans in Wing - ham and Westminster Hospital, and 30 Auxiliary members re- membered while in hospital during the year. The membership report showed that two members join- ed, six moved away, one with- drew and death claimed one member. Thompson and Mrs. Scott McLennan are the leaders and the following of- ficers were elected: President, Ruth Jermyn; vice president, Pat Craig; secretary, Ruth Mathers. The sewing box was discuss- ed and notes were given on choosing colour and design of material to suit the personality.
