Referees' Clinic Will Be Held At Clinton Station There is a most urgent need to qualify referees to Ontario Hockey Association standards throughout the Western Ontario Area. To this end an OHA Referees' Clinic is scheduled to take place at RCAF Station Clinton commencing at 8.00 p.m. on Friday, January 31 and continuing through February 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The clinic will be conducted by Flight Lieutenant Lefebrvre. Flight Lieutenant Lefebvre has conducted hockey officials' clinics in various parts of the country as well as at service units overseas. Mr. Pat Patter- son, OHA Referee -in -Chief will attend on the last day of the clinic and screen the candid- ates for OHA qualifications. This clinic will include coverage of the CAHA Rule Book and parts of the OHA con- stitution. Lectures, rule inter- pretation discussions and practi- cal ice time during the clinic; provision can also be made for the candidates to be screened during actual game situations on the evening of February 3. Two house league hockey games are arranged for that evening. There is a very definite lack of sufficient numbers of trained and qualified officials in this and many other areas of Ontar- io'to meet the requirement. If more officials cannot be quali- fied the situation will very like- ly become critical. Club organizations will serve their best interest by can- vassing their areas for candid,- Ates andidAtes to attend this clinic and by giving this endeavour full sup- port.
