Public School Bd.
Dave Murray was re -named
chairman of the Public School
Board at the board's inaugural
meeting on Monday night of
this week. It is his second term
in the chair. Mr. Murray wel-
comed Murray Gerrie to the
board, as did the other mem-
bers. He was elected to office
last November and replaces
Herb Fuller, who resigned after
serving for 18 years.
Also returned as vice-chair-
man was Dr. E. F. Shaunessy.
Two committees were named:

nett, W. Harris, Dr. E. F.
Shaunessy; finance, Dr. M.
MacLennan, M. Gerrie, S.
Reid, A. Adams.
Minutes of the 1963 annual
meeting and the December
meeting, along with accounts
for the month, receive board
approval. Principal Stewart
Beattie was appointed to the
Wingham Library Board for a
three-year term.
Mrs. Roy Morgan was re -ap-
pointed secretary -treasurer of
the board with a small increase
in salary, and James Miller was
again named school attendance
officer.
Mr. Beattie's report indicat-
ed that December had 497 pu-
pils on the roll with attendance
averaging 96.97 per cent for
the month.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The treasurer read a report
of the finances for the past year.
The report showed a total in-
come of $106, 175.80, made
up of the municipal levy of
$58, 000.00 and government
grants of $47,836.56 and a few
other small items.
Under expenses, salaries ac-
counted for the major portion,
with a total of $66,604.96. In-
structional equipment amount-
ed to $3,806.31; school ad -

the Recreation Room of the
