A. Cur- rie & Sons funeral home for Mrs, Lucy Sabina Garniss, widow of John Garniss, with in- terment in Brandon Cemetery at Belgrave. Rev, C. M. Jar- dine officiated. Pallbearers were James Con - bay, Gordon Brant, Harold Maize, John Storykoff, David Smith and William Sanderson. The flower bearers were Wil- liam Ratcliffe and Larry Kidd. Mrs. Garniss, who was 75, died in Toronto on December 26. She resided at 219 Poyntz Avenue, Willowdale. She had been ill only a short time. She was born at Port Albert, a daughter of the late William and Rebecca Bray. She at- tended school at Fordyce. Mrs. Garniss married her husband at Brussels. Her husband passed away in April, 1963 and one child pre- deceased her. She is survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Appoint Leaders At AYPA Meeting FQRDWICH--The regular meeting of the Fordwich-Gorrie Branch of the A, Y. P. A. was held in the basement of Trinity Church, Fotdwieh, on Sunday night with 20 members present. The president, Sharon Hub- bard opened the meeting with prayers and a hymn. The Scrip- ture was read by Joan Anderson. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Bryan Underwood gave the treasurer's report. The next meeting is to be on January 17, in the form of a tobogganing party with Ronald Bennett's group in charge of the meeting. It was moved and seconded that outstanding bills be paid. Leaders of each of the three groups were elected. The re- sults were as follows; Fordwich group, Andy Allan; Gorrie Group, Myrna Nuhn; North Group, Ronald Bennett. Marlene Douglas conducted the study on "Tradition of Our Church". The meeting was closed by the president. Games and lunch were provided by the Fordwich Group. Friends of Mrs. Ross Doig will be sorry to hear that she is again confined to Victoria Hos- pital, London. Master David Hargrave spent the week -end with his grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Mrs. Ida Verschoor returned to her home in Delroy Beach, Florida, after spending several weeks with Mrs. Ruby Forester. Mrs. Garnard King and Mr. Harry Bast were able to return to their homes from Palmer- ston Hospital, where they had been confined for two weeks. Miss Patti King, 8 -year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don King is confined to Wingham Hospital suffering from pneu- monia. Little Mary EllenSie- fert 18 -months -old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Siefert was also confined to Listowel Hospi- tal with pneumonia but is at home again. Mrs. Len Wilson, Susan and Murray spent New Year's holi- day at Scarboro. Mrs. Florence Groves returned home with her and will visit for a week. Miss Elaine Millar spent a week at the home of her grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. Drew Aitcheson in Elora. Mr. Leslie Norris of Brant- ford spent the week -end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Norris, Mr, John Eurig, who has been confined to Wingham Hos- pital for several weeks, is now at Huronview Home in Clinton.
