How to Read
The Bible
In a Year
"How to read the whole Bi-
ble in one year" is one of the
themes of the Canadian Bible
Society during the sixtieth an-
niversary of the Society in Can-
ada,
A simple plan has been sug-
ested by the Reverend Profes-
sor A. R. Cragg of Winnipeg
which is recommended by the
Bible Society for use through
1964. •
In order to read the 1, 189
chapters of the Bible in one
year, says Prof. Cragg, each
morning throughout the year,
read two chapters. On Sundays
until the end of September two
additional chapters should be
read, that is, five chapters in-
stead of the usual three. On the
Sundays of the last three months
of the year, four chapters a day
should be read.
This plan is the result of
many requests for suggestions
as to how to read the whole Bi-
ble in one year. Other plans
have been prepared such as:
Read three pages a day."
There are approximately 1, 000
pages in the average Bible.
Many people regularly read
he Bible from Genesis to Reve-
ation each year. One success-
ful man in Toronto has done
his for some 30 years. A
E in Chicago after
eading it through each year for
a number of years decided to
write the whole Bible out by
hand in order that its message
Wright impress itself more Clear-
y on his mind.
The customer in the barber
nop was addressed thus: "Your
air seems to be getting thin on
gip, sir. Have you tried our
wn brand of hair tonic?"
"No, I haven't," responded
e man, "so it can't be that."
