R. 1, Gorrie. The bride, the former Muriel Doreen Haskins is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Haskins, R. R. 1, Clifford. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank King, R, R. 1, Gor- rie. Rev. G. Howard Pace of- ficiated. The bride, given in mar- riage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white vel- vet with round neckline, long lilypoint sleeves, fitted bodice and full skirt featuring a chapel train. Her shoulder length net veil was scattered with sequins. She wore pearls, the gift of the groom and carried white gladi- oli with red roses and white streamers. Miss Cheryl Haskins, R.R. 1, Clifford, was maid of honor for her sister. She wore a street length red velvet dress with round neckline, three-quarter length sleeves, fitted bodice and carried a large white mum with red and white carnations. Matrons of honor were Mrs. Melvin McCutcheon of Brussels, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Ruth Cook of London, They wore similar ensembles. Their headdresses were a wedding band of shirred velvet. Joanne Sanderson, R.R. 1, Gorrie, was flower girl wearing a white velvet dress with puff sleeves and carrying a white fur muff adorned with red and white carnations, They wore pearls, the gift of the bride. Jack King of Belleville was best man for his brother, El- wood Fitch, R.R. 1, Wroxeter, cousin of the bride, and Wayne King, R.R. 1, Gorrie, cousin of the groom, were ushers. A.dinner was held at the church for 70 guests, followed by a reception at the Belmore Community Centre. The bride's mother received wearing a blue brocade dress, white fur hat and white acces- sories with corsage of white car- nations. The groom's mother assisted wearing a beige flower- ed satin brocade dress, beaver .... The bride was honored at a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. Elmer Haskins and at a presentation by London friends prior to her marriage. Bonspiel Held On Boxing Day GORRIE— The rink skipped by Lionel Johnston, Robert Els- chner, Gordon Edgar and Nor- man Wilson won first prize at the bonspiel held here on Box- ing Day. Their prizes were satin bound orlon blankets. Satin bound blankets were also presented to the second prize winners Barry Adams, Stewart Higgins, Harvey Mc- Michael and the skip, Robert Hastie. Draw Winners GORRIE--The businessmen of the village sponsored a draw for shoppers at the Christmas sea- son and the winners have been announced. Ben Gibson of the Howick and Wallace Boundary won the first prize, $25.00; Bert Hub- bard of Gorrie, second prize, $10.00; and Leonard Sanderson, R.12. 1, Gorrie, third prize, $5.00. IN HOSPITAL GORRIE--Mrs. John Ilynd- man fell on Sunday of last week while visiting at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Wm. Bennett, and broke her right hip. She was taken to Winghath Hospi- tal on Monday morning. Mrs. Fred Coulter fell at her home on Friday and fractured her tight leg. She was taken to Listowel Hospital by ambu- lance. W. R.
