Speeches were given by Mur- ray Gaunt, M.L.A. , the new reeve, Lorne Durnin, Council- lor Robert Lyons and Charlie MacDonald. The holder of the lucky tick, et for the turkey was Mrs. Har- old Taylor of Wingham. The winner of the second prize, a pair of sheets, was Mrs. Victor Emerson who purchased her tickets from Murray McWhin- ney, winner of the prize for selling the most tickets in the school. The proceeds of the concert and sale of tickets netted $118. with which the pupils will en- joy a bus trip. Mrs. James Laidlaw, Misses Mary and Annie Laidlaw and Mr. Elroy Laidlaw visited on Friday in Goderich with Mr. and Mrs. Oliver McBrien. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Fisher and family of Owen Sound spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs, George Fisher. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hand of R. C. A. F, Barrie are on five weeks leave and are visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hand and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jacklin of Brus- sels. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Finley and family of Belmore visited on Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Roy Irwin. Mrs. Torn Magoffin visited on Saturday with Mrs. Kate Durnin at Brucelea Haven, Wal- kerton. Mrs. Frank Coulter, Mrs. Duncan MacDonald and Mr. and Mrs. H. David MacDonald visited on Saturday with Miss Mabel Purdon at the Ontario Hospital, Goderich, and we are happy to report found hermuch improved in health. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Linden- schmidt and Bob of Walkerton were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weber and fam- ily and on Saturday Mr. and Mrs, George Weber of Kitch- ener spent the day with them. Miss Anne Cardiff of Brus- sels, teacher -in -training at Stratford Teachers' College, was a practise teacher last week at Fordyce school under the supervision of Mrs. OliveKen- nedy, Mr. John Halliday of Teeswater was also a student teacher there with Mrs. Ken- nedy, Miss Cardiff spent the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul. Messrs. Jim Taylor and Wayne Coultes visited over the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Davis and Miss Ruth Taylor of Toronto accompanied them to the hockey game in Maple Leaf Gardens between Maple Leafs and the Chicago Black hawks on Saturday evening, Mr, and Mrs. Lynn Morrison and Stephen were Sunday visi- tors with his parents, Mr. and Mrs, Chester Morrison of Pal - me rston, Mr. and Mrs. John Jami- son, Garry and Brian of East Wawanosh were Sunday visitors with his parents, Mr, and Mrs. Torn Jamieson.
