MISSION BAND Eighteen members of the Mission Band of Knox Church met on Sunday for their Dec- ember meeting. A Bible quiz on the Christmas story was con- ducted by Mrs. Mann. She was assisted by Mrs, McKercher in leading the devotion. The children exchanged gifts and were then treated to chocolate bars, the gift of the Explorers. CANDY FOR THE KIDS — The usual big crowd of children was on hand Saturday afternoon for their annual visit with Santa and to receive a free bag of candy. The latter was distributed outside the town hall while Santa held forth in the council chambers. Bluevale Personals Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hall on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Edward McMich- ael of Toronto. Communion service was held in the United Church on Sunday. Rev. G. C. Mitchell received into the church by certificate, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Barbour. Mrs. C. B. Hoffman spent a day in Exeter last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Johnston and children visited in London for a day last week. Recent visitors in the village were Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Masters of Parkhill, and Mrs. Olive Gallagher, of Brussels. Mr, and Mrs. Harry Elliott and Mrs, G. C. Mitchell spent the week -end in Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Shear, of Stratford, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Barret and family, of El- mira, spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Campbell. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Richare son and Brian, of Lasallette, were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Murray Chapman. Rev. G. C. Mitchell, Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. George Heth- erington visited at Paisley last week. Bluevale Womens' Institute will hold their Christmas meet- ing at the home of Mrs. R. J. McMurray on the afternoon of December 11th.
