Christmas Shimmers in Home
The fantasy of Christmas be-
comes an integral part of your
home during this beautiful sea-
son when you use the symbols
of Christmas in your decor.
Many items should be used in
conjunction with the year-
round decorations in your home.
Most homes have candles
and miniature decorations
which they unearth annually
and then carefully pack away at
the end of the season, Gay
bells, wreaths and ribbon orna-
ments complete the feeling of
Christmas in the home.
Christmas cards are part of
the Christmas fantasy, and so
many of them adapt beautifully
to the glittering themes desired.
Try attaching your cards to
lengths of ribbon and hanging
the ribbon to door frames or
mantel pieces. Transparent
tape, straight pins or staples
can be used to attach the cards
to the ribbon. Tie a lovely
bow at the top. of the ribbon as
trim, You'll find dusting much
easier, too, than if you allow-
ed the cards to stand .ree onthe
mantel or other flat surfaces.
Paste or tape particularly
pretty cards to the windows,
design side out. Use others to
decorate stair wells and to
frame mirrors.
Fashion ribbon chains to fes-
toon the Christmas tree or to
add a touch of Christmas to
lamp shades, door frames and
windows. Use layers of silver

Decor
paper over shaped cardboard to
create Christmas bells. Trim
with a red bow at top and add
one or two jingle bells in the
centre for decoration with the
traditional touch.
Ribbon poinsettias vie with
the real flower for beauty and
can be used year after year on
parcels, on the tree and for
home decoration. Small poin-
settias or ribbon roses make
beautiful corsages to present to
your guests or to wear yourself.
Use all of the symbols of
Christmas in your home this
year. Personalize the Christ-
mas fantasy in your home by
exercising your imagination.
Pioneer Girls
Entertain Dads
The Explorer Club of the
Pioneer Girls entertained their
fathers at a formal dinner Sat-
urday evening at the Baptist
Church.
The table was decorated
with blue and white tapers lit
over an open Bible, with lamp
and aeroplane, the club's em-
blems,
The dinner was prepared by
the girls and their leader, Mrs.
Kilpatrick, this being an
achievement for their Pioneer
Girls' Rank,
The fathers or friends, pre-
sented each girl with a beauti-
ful corsage.
Following the dinner, the
girls entertained with a short
program consisting of readings,
a duet, a trio and a sing song,
Faye Procter very capably gave
the welcoming address.
Merrill Cantelon, on behalf
of the men, thanked the girls
and their leader for the enjoy-
able evening.
