"Gaig 6-46-WA5 litteA5Abg W.52-1065WA1/45StiO ;IVAD,
CBC -Television s first pro-
duction to be seen simultan-
eously on both English and
French networks, was presented
on Sunday evening. It was call-
ed "A Show from Two Cities"
and was only the first of four
similar•shows to be seen this
season, The 'two cities' were
Toronto and Montreal, and the
talent was divided almostequal-
ly between the two Canadian
entertainment centres. In Tor-
onto, Shirley Harmer, her hair
back to its original brunette
shade, and Bill Cole, were in
charge of the musical tour; in
Montreal, it was petite French
star Lise LaSalle and singer
Pierre Theriault who brightened
up the scenery. Other Montreal
music was provided by Renee
Claude, and opera stars Claire
Gagnier and Richard Verreau
who performed their duet num-
ber from "La Boherne", in front
of the exclusive new Place des
Arts in that city, More music
in Toronto was supplied by their
late mayor, Donald Summer-
ville who two days later, was
dead, after suffering a sudden
heart attack. Comedy was ab-
ly dished out by Barbara Hamil-
ton and Doug Romaine in Tor-
onto, and Monique Loyrac (what
a knockout!) and Jean Cavall in
Montreal. They were all great,
of course, and the tours of the
cities were skilfully handled,
making them very interesting
and intriguing. For my money
though, the standout minutes
were spent in the company of
comediennes Hamilton and Ley-
rac in their ridiculous 'Statues'
number, Doug Romaine and the
other 'Mounties' in their hilari-
ous spoof on the Musical Ride,
and Diefenbaker and Pearson in
the company of their 'young'
audience, This was marvel-
lous, and I would give anything
to know just how long it took to
capture those priceless expres-
sions. The entire production
was under the guiding hand of
Don Hudson, so it really isn't
too surprising that it was such a
hit. He is the former producer
of the Wayne -and -Shuster Hours
and is one of the finest in the
business. I'm already looking
forward to his next "Show from
Two Cities"; that guy really
knows how to put a show togeth-
er! Getting back to Shirley
Harmer again, this month is a
memorable one for her. She is
playing the Copacabana, the
top night club in New York City,
and one of the top in the world.
Sharing the bill with her will
be singer (?) -comedian Allan
Sherman; remember his 'Hello
Muddah, Hello Faddah'?

Another Sunday night de-
light was seeing the husband -
and -wife team of Tommy and
Nancy Sands for the first time
together on The Ed Sullivan
Show. They sang solo numbers,
which were very good, but
couldn't they have found a bet-
ter duet number than " Hey,
Good Lookin which it seemed,
they didn't even know? Mrs.
Sands is, of course, Nancy Sin-
atra, daughter of singer Frank
and his first wife Nancy Sr.,
and was the inspiration behind
one of Papa's early hits "Nancy
with the Laughing Face". She is
a fine performer and a real doll;
the resemblance to her young
mother is fantastic!

I was one of the clowns who
watched Quest's "Night of Ad-
mission" last week, but for the
life of me, I can't understand
why I did; I received absolute-
ly no inspiration or information
from it except for the fact that
Don Francks is an excellent ac-
tor, in addition to being a tal-
ented singer and comedian. The
play, about a man's first night
in a hospital, was atrocious!

A few weeks ago we took a
peek at some top record single
let's talk about albums now.
No. 1 seller across the country
is Allan Sherman's "My Son,
the Nut", more comedy to fol-
low up his other 'My Son' suc-
cesses. Then, after that, it is
folk music, folk music, and
more folk music, with Peter,

THAT'S RIGHT, I'M GETTING SHUR-GAIN
Now that herds are being taken off
pasture for the winter feeding period,
production slumps can be avoided by
feeding a completely balanced ration.
SHUR-GAIN Dairy Ration supplies all of
the necessary nutrients to not only main-
tain top production but keep up body
weight as well.
We have the complete feed or you can
use your own grain with SHUR-GAIN
Concentrates. We can also supply you
with SHUR-GAIN's recommended feed-
ing program for the complete dairy herd.
