Mr. and Mrs, Russel Gaunt
enjoyed a sight seeing trip to
Chicago last week and visited
with their nephew, Mr, and
Mrs. Harold Gaunt, Michael,
Garner, Brenda, Richard and
Sandra at Beloit, Wis. Harold
is a 1959 graduate of Queen's
University, Kingston, He is
employed as a staff and project
engineer at Beloit Corporation,
one of the largest paper mach-
inery concerns in the world.
Mr. and Mrs. Grant McJn-
tyre, accompanied by Mrs,
Cecil Falconer, spent Wednes-
day in Sarnia.
Mrs. Lorne Forester spent
Wednesday with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Hodgins of near
Bervie,
Mr. Elwood Groskorth spent
the past week hunting deer in
the Bala vicinity.
Mrs. Roane returned to her
home on Wednesday from Brook-
haven Nursing Home, Wingham,
where she has been since her
son-in-law, Mr. James Mc-
Innes, was sent to Wingham
Hospital with a heart attack.
We are pleased to report Mr.
McInnes is expected home in
the very near future.
Mrs. Elwood Groskorth visit-
ed Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs.
James Moffat of Wingham.
Mrs. Musgrove, who has
been staying with her daughter,
Mrs, Doris Willis, went this
week to visit for some time at
the home of another daughter,
Mrs. Bennett Mitchell and Mr.
Mitchell of near Listowel.
Mr. and Mrs. James Potter
and daughter, Patricia, of
Moosomin, Sask., arrived Fri-
day to visit with Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Tiffin and their aunt,
Mrs. Myrtle Dawson. Mrs. Pot-
ter is the former Luella Purdon,
sister of Mr. Thos. Purdon of
Lucknow,
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Loug-
heed and daughters Cheryl and
Lori of Peterborough, Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Fisher of Don Mills
spent the week -end with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. George
Fisher.
Misses Bernadette, Patricia
and their brother, Brian King of
Teeswater, were Sunday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ar-
scott and their sisters, Valerea
and Andrea King.
Daniel Cassidy is staying
with Mr. and Mrs. Arscott while
Mrs. Cassidy is a patient in
Seaforth Hospital.

the week -end with Mr. and
Mrs. Charlie Tiffin.
Mrs. Mabel Stapelton is
visiting this week with her daugh-
ter, Mrs. Thos. Jamieson and
Mr. Jamieson.

son, Barbara and Bradley of near
Birr, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm

er, Diane and Donna, were

Currie and Donna and Diane re-
mained to spend the holiday on

evening Mrs, Wheeler, teacher
at S.S. No. 10, Kinloss, held
Parents' Night at the school.
A11 parents had the opportunity
to attend and view the work of
the pupils on display; talk with
the teacher and learn of their
children's progress in their class
work.
Quite a number of parents
were present hut there were
many who did not attend. It
is only when the parents co-
operate with the teacher, offer
her suggestions concerning their
children attd are ready to ac-
cept the teacher's suggestions
that the education of their
children along all lines will be
assured.

with her mother, Mrs, N. R.
Currie of Wingham and other
relatives.
Mr. Wesley Lott of London
spent Saturday with his mother,

Mr. Donald Hill was able to
return to his home on Thursday
from Wingham Hospital where
he had been hospitalized due
to a car accident on Hallowe'en.
Mrs, J. D.. Beecroft was re-
leased from the Wingham Hos-
pital on Friday. Her many
friends will be pleased to learn
of her recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Figures
of Sault Ste. Marie were visit-
ors last week with Mrs. Annie
McQuillin.
Mr. Alex Coffin spent the
week -end with Mr. and Mrs.
George Coffin in Hespeler.
Mrs. Charles Gillespie and
Miss Winnifred Farrier of Toron-
to spent the holiday here. Mrs.
Gillespie was with Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Martin and Miss Farrier
with her mother, Mrs. W. R.

WHITBCUURCH.-Mr,. and
Mrs, Charles Tiffin attended
the opening of the 13e11 bridge
between the 4th and 6th conces-
sions of Huron Township. The
property on which this bridge
was built belonged to the late
Mr, and Mrs, William Bell,
Mrs. William Brown, Luck -
now, formerly Ethel Bell, was
also in attendance as was her
granddaughter, Miss Jeanette
Johnston.
Brother Dies
In Calgary
WHITECHURCH--Word was
received on Wednesday by his
relatives that Earl Kilburn Crow-
ston, son of the late Mr, and
Mrs. Newton Crowston, age 69,
had passed away at Calgary.
He grew to manhood on the
farm now owned by his brother,
John, at Langside, Kinloss
Township and left here in 1920
to enter the taxi business in Cal-
gary.

Left to mourn their loss are
sisters Mrs. William (Elora)
Emmerton of Kincardine and
Mrs. William (Celia) Kennedy,
Wingham and a brother, John
of Kinloss Township.
The service was held at the
MacKenzie Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow, on Tuesday at 2p.m.
with burial in the family plot
in Tiffin's Cemetery.
FINDS BABY CHICKS
WIIITECHURCH—On Sunday
Mrs. Carl McClenaghan found
a nest, which a pullet had hid-
den away in the barn, full of
fluffy baby chicks. We think
the pullet must have confused
the past warm weather with
spring.
