WASTEFUL WASHER.

washing machines was patented

ated by turning a crank at the
side that rotated paddles inside
the tub, Unfortunately, the
clothes washed by this machine

Wingham Brahch 180, Royal Canadian
Legion, Glenn Sinnamon, placed the or-
ganization's wreath bearing all the mem-
bers' poppies, at the Cenotaph Monday
morning. The wreath was one of 22
placed at the memorial during the an-

Howick Council
Requests Signs On Two Corners
Howick Township Council
authorized the road superinten-
dent to sign a petition for a
municipal drain on lot 25, con-
cession 10 and 11 Howick. The
petition of Carl Dinsmore and
the township for a municipal
drain was accepted and for-
warded to the drain engineer.
Council authorized the coun-
ty treasurer to purchase any un-
sold lands of the township of
Howick at the adjourned tax
sale. The treasurers fidelity
bond certificate and the burg-
lary policy were renewed with
R. W. N. Wade.
A request is to be made to
the Iluron County Road Com-
mission to erect two "No U
Turn" signs at the corner of Pat-
rick St. and Cemetery Road
and at the post office corner on
the county road and sixth con-
cession of l iowick.
The road Superintendent was
authorized to purchase a 500
gallon fuel tank and a 1000 gal-
lon tank.
