M, Scott of Seaforth has been selected by the Ontario Plowmen's As- sociation for the site of the 1966 International Plowing Match to be held in Huron County. This has been an- nounced ay Roy Adair, chair- man of the local site commit- tee. On Tuesday, October 29th a committee of seven represent- atives of the Ontario Plowmen s Association including the presi- dent, Alvin Mark of Cameron, 1st vice president, Russel Mor- rison, Beaverton, secretary - manager, F. A. Lashley, De- partment of Agriculture, Tor- onto, assistant secretary - manager, G. R. Bagg, Depart- ment of Agriculture, Toronto, treasurer, Clark Young of Driver's License To Cover Three Year Period It was announced on Thurs- day by Hon, Irwin Haskett, Ontario's Minister of Transport, that 1964 licence plates for passenger and dual purpose automobiles and motorcycles will be available from Monday, December 2, 1963 - the ear- liest date in more than twenty years. On the same date, On- tario's new system of issuing drivers' licences will go into effect. For these plates and drivers' licences the deadline will be midnight on Friday, February 28, 1964, Mr. Haskett said. 1963 drivers' licences and plates for passenger and dual purpose vehicles and motor- cycles will expire on that date and there will be no extension. Plates for 1964 will be issu- ed in exactly the same manner as in past years, but the me- thod of obtaining drivers' licen- ces will be changed. This will be the first step in the new plan to issue all Ontario's dri- vers' licences on a three year basis expiring on the driver's birth date. The procedure will be as follows: 1. Plates for passenger and dual purpose vehicles and motorcycles for 1964 may be obtained at all Department of Transport issuing offices throughout the province or by mail from Ontario Department of Transport, Parliament Build- ings, Toronto 2, at any time on and after December 2. 2. Application forms for drivers' licences are being sent out by mail. This mailing is a two-month job which will be completed by the end of Janu- ary. As soon as drivers receive their application forms, they may obtain their new licences either at their local issuing of- fice or by mail from the De- partment in Toronto. This will be the last mass issuing of drivers' licences, Mr. Haskett pointed out. Perrie, Brussels and Allen Walper, Grand. Bend with ex -officio members Gordon McGavin, Walton, Bill Hanly, Goderich and D. H. Miles, Clinton. The group was accompanied by representatives of the On- tario Provincial Police, Ontario Hydro, and Bell Telephone Company. Other sites viewed by the ment date this year. It will give people more opportunity to purchase their plates earlier and thus reduce the possibility of having to wait in line; it will be more convenient for people going south for the winter; and it will help to expedite a smooth changeover to the new system of issuing drivers' licen- ces. For commercial vehicles and trailers, Mr. Haskett said, the method inaugurated in1963 would be continued without charge. The sale of 1964 plates for commercial vehicles and trailers will commence on Monday, March 2, 1964, and these plates will again be avail- able on a quarterly basis as well as for the whole year. committee were in the Grand Bend area in Stephen Township; Dashwood in Hay Township, and an area South of Brucefield in Tuckersmith Township and an area West of Wroxeter in Turnherry Township. The committee indicated that the Scott farm in McKillop Township immediately north- west of the town of Seaforth was most adaptable to the require- ments for staging the large In- ternational Plowing Match. The tented city will be on the Scott farm with plowing and demon- strations on the Scott farms and the adjacent neighbouring farm HURON HURON CO-OPERATIVE MEDICAL SERVICES 16th ANNUAL MEETING will be held in the Council Chamber, Town Hall CLINTON, ONTARIO WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13th, 1963 at 8:30 p.m, GUEST SPEAKER will be Mr. Wilson G.
