Messrs. Garry Willis of Streetsville and Wayne Henry of Toronto were visitors at their homes. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Middle- ton of Oshawa spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Swan. Miss Heather Hand also spent the holiday at the same home, visiting with Diane Swan. On Monday evening, on the Winghan-i diamond, Belgrave and Whitechurch softball teams again battled it out. The score being Whitechurch 2, Belgrave 0. Each team now has two wins, The next game will be the deciding one for either team. LOOK ,MA! The new car — the Beaumont -- comes in a new size, 10 inches longer than other Acadian -- and a new price range. In a trim overall size that is shorter, ,narrower and lower than regular size cars, Acadian Beaumont offers virtually full-size Iuxury car roominess plus smooth, level ride and fine -car feel. Most Acadian Beaumont interior dimensions are well within one inch of regular models. The long, low, uncluttered look is stressed and the new series is identified as a member of the Pontiac family by the divided grille. The top three in Acadian are now Beaumont Sport Deluxe, shown here in the coupe which is equipped with bucket seats and floor'mounted shift, the Beaumont Custom and the Beaumont. '64 Acadian Has Outstanding Features TEESWATER, Ont.—"An en- tirely new automobile with all the interior roominess of a full- size luxury car, though on a 115 - inch wheelbase, has been added to the 1964 Acadian line," Doug "Mac" McPherson, of McPherson Garage, announced today. "The new car is the Acadian Beaumont, which brings the ser- ies offered in the Acadian line to five: Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe; Beaumont Custom; Beaumont; the Acadian Invader and the Acadian Canso," he said. "The Beaumont is 16 inches shorter than most regular -size automobiles and 3.5 inches nar- rower, but interior dimensions are well within an inch of the larger size cars," Mac pointed out. Beaumont is offered in 10 dif- ferent .models in the three series, we were told, including conver- tibles, sport models, sedans and station wagons. Most distinctive body styling feature is curved side pillars and ,curved side window glass. The Acadian Beaumonts intro- duce a new type of perimeter frame engineered specifically for each of the four basic body styles. Wide -based side members are reinforced by torque box sec- tions and the frame joins to the body through cushioned mount- ings to form a rigid overall structure with excellent isolation of the passenger compartment from road shock. The new frame, in combina- tion with full coil suspension, gives an excellent noise -free ride, Brakes are self-adjusting and there is a Soot -operated parking brake. Extended lubrication is stand- ard, as is a high-capacity elec- trical system, Special V8 and six -cylinder engines have been designed by Acadian Beaumont, Standard engines are a six -cylinder 120 horsepower and a 195 horse- power V8, However, a new op- tional 155 h.p. high-performance six includes special camshaft, re- vised carburetion, larger piston displacement and other features designed to improve acceleration and passing ability. Also new is a special optional 220 h.p. Turbo -Fire 283 V8 which includes four -barrel carburetion, full dual exhaust system and other important performance features. All Beaumont models are of- fered in a choice of fourteen Magic -Mirror colors plus a fif- teenth (goldwood yellow) for Sport Deluxe. Eleven two-tone choices are available. The Sport Deluxe interiors fea- ture bucket seats trimmed in vertically ribbed and smooth leather -grain vinyl. Floor cover- ing is deep -twist carpet. Equip- ped with automatic or four -speed manual transmission, a centre console panel is provided. All Beaumonts are available with either three -speed or four - speed Synchro-Mesh transmis- sion, or with Powerglide auto- matic transmission. to wide range of options are available, including power steer- ing, power brakes, power win- dows, new four-way power seat, push-button or manual radio, tinted glass, Positraction rear axle, heavy-duty engine and chassis equipment, taxicab and police car equipment and so on. Engine range on the Invader and Canso series has been ex- panded to -include V8 power, as well as the six- and four -cylinder engines offered last year. Offered as an extra -cost op- tion on all models, the 195 h.p. Turbo -Fire 283 engine is avail- able with a choice of standard three -speed Synchro-Mesh, op- tional four -speed Syncho-Mesh with floor -mounted shift lever, or Powerglide automatic trans- missions. Other engines are the 120 h.p. six -cylinder and the 90 h.p. four - cylinder. There are three models in each of the Invader and Canso series, a two -door sedan, four - door sedan and six -passenger station wagon.
