"B" PACK CUBS The weekly meeting of"B" Pack last Thursday night open- ed with the Grand Howl. At- tendance was taken by the Six- ers and dues collected by Sec- onders. Cub Master Jim Miller took a period of parade practice in preparation for the Remembran- ce Day Parade, Nov. llth and also gave a short talk for the reason Remembrance Day is held. Cub Master of "A" Pack, Murray Fridenburg had an in- spection, and the uniforms in general were very good. A review of Cub Promise and Law was taken with the New Chums. The Pack was instructed re- garding Apple Day, Oct. 19th, A11 boys were asked to decorate a 6 qt. fruit basket to do the best they can, even if mother's assistance is required to some small degree! Cubs of " B"Pack will be at the Town Hall Satur- day morning at 9 o'clock. The meeting closed with Cub Prayer and Grand Howl. DOTES —Miss Marilyn Stainton and Mr, Bill Danchuck of Toronto spent Thanksgiving week -end with her parents, Mr, and Mts. Percy Stainton. --Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Show- ers and family of Don Mills and Mr. and Mrs, Ken Hopwood of Kingston spent the week -end at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Charles Showers. Fox of Battleford, Mich., are leaving next week for Clemson, South Carolina, where they will *visit with their nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fox. —Mrs. 0. M. McConkey will return this week to her home near Fergus after spending some time with her mother, Mrs. George C. Hanna, John St. Court of Appeals Held by Council Reeve Stewart Procter pre- sided on October 7 for the regu- lar meeting of Morris Township Council, Mrs. Helen Martin, clerk, read the minutes of the previous meeting. The court of appeals were opened. On motion of Short - reed and Elston $100 was taken from the land assessment and $150 from the building assess- ment on lots 19 and 20 Con. 10. The assessment roll as amended was accepted, It was passed that selectors of jurors be paid $5.00 each. By-law 17, 1963, setting a special rate to be collected for a tile drain loan was passed. Six tenders were received for snowplowing, The tenders of Mel Jermyn at $8,00 per hour, Glenn Snell at $6.75 and Wilmer Glousher at $'7.00 per hour were accepted, subject to the approval of the district municipal engineer. A grant of $25.00 was given to the Huron Plowmen's Assoc. Nomination date was set for November 29, 1963 with elec- tion if necessary for December 7. The resignation of Mel J. Craig, grader operator, was accepted with regret and it was decided to advertise for a re- placement, It was moved that the neces- sary interim road subsidy be submitted.
