Mr. George Gibson, who has been visiting his sisters, Misses Elsie and Marion Gibson, has returned to his home in Hamil- ton. Ross Toman's and Miss Lynne Wright, accompanied by Mr. Henry Sage of Listowel, visited Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Matthewsin in Preston on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Beirnes of Wingham were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Coates. Visitors last week with Miss Mina and Mr. Arnold Ball were Mr, and Mrs. Geo. Myers and Audrey of Belmont, Man., Mrs. Margerite Connon of Brandon and Mrs. Herb Barwick of Bos- sivain, Man. Miss Enid Shiers of Winnipeg is a guest at present with Misses Elsie and Marion Gibson. Mr. and Mrs. George Sander• son, Mr. Arnold and Misses Mina and Nellie Ball attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Thos. E. Ball at the Hardy funeral home in Harriston last Wednesday. Mrs. Ball was well known here, her husband being a dentist here a number of years ago. Mr. John Hupfer, Mrs. Alon- zo Sparling and Miss Hazel Sparling were in Goderich for the week -end where they visit- ed Mr. and Mrs, Jas. Robertson and Mrs. Angus Carmichael, and also called on Mr. and Mrs. Walter Eaton, Seaforth, on Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hart and sons of Oshawa visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hart and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Newton. We are sorry to hear Mrs. Newton is a patient in hospital and hope for a quick return to good health. T. McLean in the presi- dent's chair. After singing the Institute Ode, the Mary Stewart Collect was repeated in unison. Current Events, prepared by Mrs. Wes Newton, were read by Mrs. Thos, Burke. A dona- tion was given to Unesco for aiding adult education in Northern Canada. Mrs. Allan Munro and Mrs. Thos. Burke were appointed delegates to the Huron fall rally to be held in Goderich. A motion was passed to con- tinue the bi-monthly euchre parties through the fall and winter, the first being held on October 30th. Mrs. Wm. Mr. and Mrs. Cloyne Mich- el have taken up residence in Richard Carson apartment. Mrs. Knowlson Elliott, port on the secretary's confer- ence in Guelph. The roll call, "A Herb I Grew", brought an excellent response. A question and answer period on household problems brought out very good ideas. Mrs. J. H. Wylie thanked all who had helped make the meeting a success and the hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. W. T.Mc- Lean and Mrs. Harry Adams. Grimsby, was a guest of Mrs. E. W.
