Attend Convention BELGRAVI--Mrs. Jaules Coultes was hostess to the Eve- ning Unit of the U, C. W. held at her home. Mrs, Laura John- ston opened the meeting with "Reasons for Thanksgiving", followed by a hymn. Psalm 100 was read by Mrs, ,Tames Lamont and Mrs. Johnston led in prayer, A poem, "We See the Hand of God", was read by Mrs, Jack Taylor. The worship service closed with a harvest hymn. Mrs. Stan Hopper was in charge of the business. The minutes and roll call were read by Mrs. Ken Barbour. Mrs. Alan Dunbar gave the treasur- er's report, The penny collect- ion was received and there were nine hospital and five home visits to the sick and shut-ins BAPTIZE BABIES BELGRAVE—Baptismal ser- vice was held in Knox Presby- terian Church on Sunday with Rev. W. Morrison officiating. The babies baptized were Ro- bert Leslie Nicholson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Garner Nicholson and Audrey Isobel Scott, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Scott. BEL GRA VE Mrs. Winnie Smith visited a few days last week with her daughter, Mrs. Ralph McCrea, and family, Blyth, and they visited with the former's sister, Mrs. Lorne Harmer at Fullerton and with Mrs. Mary Mahaffy of Staffa. HOWICK TWP. Council Approves Half Holiday The meeting of the Howick Township Council was held in the clerk's office on Monday with Reeve Ivan Haskins presid- ing. Moved by McMichael and King that we give the Howick Agricultural Society a grant of $250.00. Moved by Gibson and Mc- Michael that we give the Moles- worth Cemetery Board on High- way 86 a grant of $300.00. The Offering was re- ceived and dedicated. Mrs. Albert Biernan conduct- ed the mission study on "The World of Indian Women". A hymn was sung. The Bible study on miracles, "How Mira- cles Become a Problem", was very ably led by Mrs. George Michie. Mrs. Hopper closed the meeting with prayer and lunch was served by Mrs. Roy McSween and her group. Brussels laches Conduct Meeting BELGRAVE--The October exchange meeting of the W.M, S, of Knox PresbyterianChureh was held in the church with the Brussels ladies in charge. Mrs, W, Smith presided. Mrs. W. Speir read a poem, followed by a hymn. Scripture wasread by Mrs. E. Baker. Meditations were given by Mrs. Williams and Mrs. James Mair led in prayer. A duet was sung by Mrs. W. King and Mrs. E. Car- diff. The topic, "A Book Review on the Missionary Work on l~qua- dor," was taken by Mrs. Clark Matheson. The meeting closed with the Mizpah benediction and the Belgrave ladies served lunch. CONGRATULATIONS ... on the formai opening of your new modern broadcasting plant.
