Brewer with 9 girls present, and open- ed with the 4-H pledge. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Anne Peacock. Plans were made for Miss Dam- ude to attend the next meeting. The leaders discussed the hidden treasures present in milk. Mrs. Brewer used cottage cheese in different ways. Cheese toastwiches and lemon chiffon were made. These were very delicious. 0--0--0 LAKELET The Lakelet 4-H Girls' Club held their first meeting of the project "The Milky Way", at the home of Mrs. Arnold Gadke on Monday evening under the leadership of Mrs. Gordon Wright and Mrs. Arnold Gadke. Election of officers resulted as follows: Pres., Kaye Hark- ness; vice pres., Gladys Huth; sec. and press reporter, Chryst- al Gadke. The girls taking the project are Kaye Harkness, Gladys Huth, Chrystal Gadke, Lois Ferguson, Patsy Gadke, Linda Harkness, Janette Wright, Louise McComb, Sharon Gadke Carol Anne Hohnstien. A demonstration on measur- ing ingredients in cooking was given by Sharon Gadke and Mrs. Arnold Gadke gave a demonstration on making dif- ferent types of junket. The next meeting will be held on Monday night at the home of Mrs. Gordon Wright. 0--0--0 BLUEVALE BELLES On Saturday at 9:00 a.m. the third meeting of the Blue - vale Belles was held at the home of the leader, Mrs. James Thompson. The meeting was opened by repeating the 4-H pledge. The roll call was answered by five girls present. The minutes of the last meet- ing were read and approved. The next meeting will be held in the United Church base- ment on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. with Miss Damude, home econ- omist for Huron County visiting with the two Bluevale clubs. Alice Verbeek demonstrat- ed how to make banana cream milk drink, then each member sampled it. Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Craig gave notes on dairy foods and Mrs. Craig showed the girls what curds are like. Achievement day plans were discussed, and the meeting closed. 0--0--0 MILK MAIDS The third meeting of the Belmore Milk Maids was held at the Willits home on Satur- day at 2 p.m. The meeting opened with the pledge. The roll call was answered by 9 girls. Lorna Woods read the min- utes of the last meeting. It was decided to hold the next meeting on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at the Woods' home. Demonstrations were as follows: pasteurizing milk, Irene Doub- ledee; french toast, Betty Ross; cheese toastwiches, Lorna Woods; dry measure. Diane Ross; wet measure, Joyce Hunt. Mrs. Simmons and Mrs. Willits led the discussion on "Plans for Achievement Day" and "Hidden Treasures". Cheese samples were shown. Lunch was served and the meet- ing adjourned. 0--0--0 CALCIUM QUEENS The Calcium Queens of the Gorrie Group 1, homemaking club held their second meeting at the home of Mrs. Russell Adams on September 21 with eight girls present. Ruth Anne Taylor read the minutes. Mrs. R. Adams demonstrated making cold chocolate milk, and Wanda Sparling making hot chocolate. The girls all sampled junket. 0--0--0 BELMORE GROUP 1 The second meeting of Bel - more I, 4-H homemaking club was held at the W, I. rooms Belmore as a joint meeting with Belmore II club. Miss Patricia Damude, home econ- omist for Huron, was there, The roll call "A name for our club" was answered by nine girls of Belmore I. Discussion was led by Mrs; Simmons and Mrs. Willits on the different forms of milk. It was decided to meet next at Mrs. Willits home for the third meeting. Lunch was served and the meeting adjourned. 0--0--0 DAIRY DAISIES The second meeting of the "Dairy Daisies" 4-H Club was held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Hutton, with 14 members present. The meeting opened with the ode, pledge, motto, and creed, followed by the reading of the minutes by Barbara France. A number of notes were outlined by the leaders, on the vitamin value of milk in our daily food. After this the making of junket, cocoa, and milk shakes was demonstrated, with the members sampling the finished products and giving their opinions of the tasts. The meeting closed by singing "The More We Get To- gether". 0--0--0 FROSTY QUEENS The first meeting of the Belgrave 4-H homemaking club, Group 1, in the project "The Milky Way" opened with the pledge and motto. Officers elected were, president,Mari- lyn Taylor; secretary, each girl to take a turn; press report- er, Brenda VanCamp. The leaders of this group are Mrs. Stanley Black and Miss Lila Black. Next meeting will be held at Marilyn Taylor's home. Mrs. Black told of achieve- ment day. The junket that had been demonstrated by Lila Black was sampled. 0-0--0 The second meeting of Bel - grave 1, homemaking club was held at Marilyn Taylor's and opened with the pledge and motto. Nancy VanCamp read the minutes. Next meeting on Sept. 30 at the home of Nancy VanCamp, the German association of metal door manufacturers to which the group belongs, and W. T. Whitechurch Mr, and Mrs. Carl Weber and family visited on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. George Web- er of Kitchener and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lang and family of Elmwood visited at the Weber home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Squibb, wJto spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Russell Chapman, re- turned home on Sunday to Aurora. Mr. and Mrs. George Langstaff of Uxbridge visited for a few days this week at the Chapman home. Mrs, Chap - This group decided to call themselves " The Frosty Queens: Mrs. Stanley Black gave the subject matter. Lila Black demonstrated pasteurization and how to make cocoa, Mar- ilyn Taylor demonstrated jun- ket. The cocoa was sampled at the close of the meeting. man, Sr. , who had spent some weeks visiting former friends at Aurora and Markham, return- ed home with the Langstaffs. Miss Claire Chamney of Tor- onto, and Miss Sandra of Lon- don, spent the week -end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Chamney. Mr. and Mrs, Alan Armes of Windsor spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Coultes. Mr. and Mrs. George Thomp son and sons of Feversham spent a few days last week at the Watt home in the village, here. Mr. John Beadle of Goderich and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bead- le of Vancouver, visited on Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Robinson, and will visit this week with other Robinson relatives in this district. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Laidlaw have been very ill during the past week with flu. Wroxeter We are pleased to see Mr. Harvey Copland out again, A very successful farm sale was held on Friday at the farm of the late Wm, McDonald, when a large crowd attended and good prices were realized. Mrs, Alonzo Sperling and Miss Hazel Sparling were week- end guests with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wareham of Barrie. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Town- send visited on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. John Shortreed of Fergus and attended Fergus fall fair. Mr, and Mrs. Arnold Noble, Wayne and Paul of Kitchener spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fraser Haugh. Mrs. Isaac Stokes and Edith visited at the same home, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mc- Michael and Mrs. Thos. Me - Michael of Wingham, spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stafford of Port Burwell and attended the wedding of Mrs. Thos. McMichael's grand- daughter. Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. George Gibson were Mrs. Cliff Hazlett and Mr, and Mrs. Lloyd Weir, Calvin and Karen of Toronto, Misses Lynda and Janis Green of Goderich.
