C, W. of Calvin -Brick United Church j was held at tate home of Mrs, Mina McRitchie on Thursday evening last, and 20 ladies were present. The theme was I " The Love of God". Mrs, George McGee presided and led in the meditation and call to worship. The hymns were read in unison. Mrs. E, Dow read the Scripture passage and Mrs. Gordon McBurney led in pray- er. Mrs. McGee led in the offertory prayer, Mrs. Mason Robinson had charge of the Bible study per- iod, and spoke of the love of God, and in 1 Samuel, and in John and Corinthians. Quest- ions were given out, and groups gave their answers. McKenzie of Abernethy, Sask., has been visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Ira Wall and Mr. Wall for the past two weeks. Mrs. Beecroft welcomed Mrs. Mary Galbraith and Mrs. Jackson to the meeting. The ladies dec- ided to give a donation rather than have a bake sale this fall, Mrs, Jackson closed the meet- ing with prayer. BROTHERS MEET ON WEST COAST WHITECHURCH—Mr, and Mrs.. H. D. McDonald arrived home from their Western trip last Monday and report a grand three-week trip with nice warm weather, no accidents and no rain. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mc- Donald of Ashfield, who ac- companied them, visited with his brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs, Ewan McDonald of Port Alberni. The brothers had not seen each other since Ewan left home 38 years ago, and Ewan did not recognize him at all. WHITECHURCH--The W. M. S. of the Presbyterian Church met last Thursday in the Sunda) school room with the president, Mrs. Victor Emerson, presiding and giving the call to worship. She read a poem called "Keep Mum", All sang, "The Lord's My Shepherd", and Mrs. Em- erson read Psalm 24. The med- itation was given by Mrs. H. D. McDonald, "Christ's prayer before His betrayal". Mrs. Archie Purdon led in the Glad Tidings prayer. All sang, a hymn and the roll call for the 16 ladies present, was answer- ed by a parable of the Bible. Mrs. Earl Caslick led in the of- fertory prayer. WILL ATTEND TORONTO WEDDING WHITECHURCH--The Coul- tes families, Mr, and Mrs. Cecil Coultes, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Coultes and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bosman will attend the marriage of Miss Margaret Agatha Coultes of Toronto, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Coultes, and Mr. Charles Kaasa of Edmonton, Alta., in St. James Bond Unit- ed Church this Friday at 8 p.m. The reception will follow. Rally Day at Calvin -Brick WHITECHURCH—Rally Day service was held in Calvin - Brick United Church on Sunday, when Gordon McBurney, super- intendent of the Sunday school presided. Ronald McBurney and Jimmie Beecroft read the Scripture readings, Mrs. Nor- man Coultes told the story, and Mr. McBurney led in prayer. The Junior choir sang, "Far Round the World", and Rev, A, Jackson gave them a special address on the work of the church and its many needs in the mission centres.
