WHITECHURCH--The Grand-
mothers' meeting of the Worn -
en's Institute was held on Tues-
day last at an evening meeting
in the Memorial Hall here,
with the president, Mrs. Claude
Coffin, presiding, After the
opening exercises, 19 members
answered the roll call, "Bring
a guest and name her". There
were 14 guests.
At the business meeting the
ladies decided to buy a coupon
number 367, worth $10, to
assist with the organizing of the
North-West Territories by the
Institute, and with Home Econ-
omic representatives. Already
four districts have been organ-
ized. Mrs. Ezra Scholtz gave
a reading of the history of
Whitechurch, as written by the
late Etta Mowbray.
Mrs. Wallace Conn was in
charge of the antique display,
and each owner gave the history
of their own antique. Mrs.

dyed, in by -gone years. A
Chinese coin -sword was dis-
played, powder -horn and shot,
for guns, quilts brought from
the old country, over 90 years
ago, with Bible pictured on
them, wooden skates, an ox -
shoe, bellows, and many dishes
of nearly a century ago.

musical selections, "The
Yellow Bird", and "I'm Forever
Blowing Bubbles", on the auto-
harp, accompanied by Mrs.
Dan Tiffin on the piano. Mrs.
Wm. Evans gave a reading, "A
Rural Home". Mrs. Coffin and
Mrs. Scholtz sang, "0 Happy
Day", and Mrs. Coffin ac-
companied on the auto -harp.
Mrs. Garnet Farrier led in
two contests. The prizes went
to Mrs, Jas. Laidlaw, for the
smallest feet; Mrs. W. R. Far-
rier, the oldest grandmother
present; Mrs. Walter Lott, who
had the most grandchildren;
Mrs. Claude Coffin, who had
the youngest grandchild; Mrs.
Scotty Ross, the grandmother
who came the farthest to attend
the meeting; Mrs. Johnston
Conn, the grandmother who
whistled the best.
The National Anthem and
the Institute Grace, closed the
meeting. Mrs. Dan Tiffin and
Mrs. Garnet Farrier, the hostes-
ses provided a delicious lunch
of biscuits and jam, with a cup
of tea.

anosh families were well repre-
sented last Wednesday afternoon

admired the new arena, with
the wide wagon racks, so well
filled up with flowers, fruits,
vegetables, baking, school
work and projects, so many new
ideas for Christmas decorations
and plates of white or brown
eggs, by the dozens.
The pets, had an interested
following, as did the pets out-
doors, dogs, pups, goats, kids,
and ponnies, and the pupils
made a good job of leading and
showing off their show calves.
This is one of the best shows in
