Notice is dtereby given that a poll for the Electoral District of
Huron -Bruce will be open on
THURSDAY, FRIDAY and SATURDAY, the
19th, 20th and 21st days of SEPTEMBER, 1963
from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., and from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
(9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and. from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m., D.S.T.)
The polling places for the said electoral .district will be located at
Town Hall, WINGHAM
Mrs. Sadie Stanley's Residence, RIPLEY
Public Library, BRUSSELS
Frank Fedy's Residence, MILDMAY
for the purpose of receiving the votes of voters Who expect on
the day fixed for polling, to be absent from and unable to vote in
the polling subdivisions for Which their names appear on the lists.
The ballot boxes will be opened and the votes counted at 7 p.m.
(8 p.m. D.S.T.) on the 25th day of Sept. 1963, at the said places.

her home in London.

GORRIE--The September
meeting of the Gorrie Women's
Institute was held at the home
of Mrs. Hartwell Strong with
15 members and one guest pre-
sent. The meeting opened with
The Ode and the Mary Stewart
Collect, The roll call, "flow
to combat racial discriminat-
ion", brought forth interesting
answers,
It was decided to have a
special collection at the Octob-
er meeting to aid a new Insti-
tute in the Northwest Territories
Plans were made to have a
booth at the Gorrie Fall Fair,
Mrs. Glad. Edgar gave the
motto, "Good citizenship is a
stepping stone to a good nation'.
She stressed that to be a good
citizen you must be a good
Christian citizen.
The topic, "Citizenship"
was very capably given by Mrs.
Cecil Wilson. She said "Citi-
zenship is the status of anyone
who enjoys the right and privi-
lege of a nation and in return
gives allegiance to its govern-
ment. We should appreciate
the privilege of citizenship."
The Dutch auction was won
by Mrs, Robt. Elschner. The
meeting closed with all repeat-
ing the Lord's Prayer and a tas-
ty lunch was served by Mrs.
Hartwell Strong and Mrs. Mel-
vin Taylor.

funeral of a relative at New
Hamburg on Monday.
Mr, Jeffery Barlow, Thames-
ville, Misses Valerie and Hea-
ther Moyer, Strathroy, spent
the week -end with Mr, and
Mrs. Vernon Barlow. Miss
Heather Moyer remained for a
week's visit with Mr. and Mrs,
Lawrence Barlow, Listowel.

RECONSTRUCTING
PART OF PIER
The Hon, Jean Paul Des-
chatelets, Minister of Public
Works, has announced the
award of a $152, 989 contract tc
the Bermingham Construction
Limited of Hamilton, Ont, , for
the reconstruction of part of the
orth pier in the harbour at
oderich, Ont.
The firm submitted the low-
st bid of 12 in response to ad-
ertising for public tenders
which closed on August 21,
1963, The highest bid was
$202, 500. The work is sched-
uled for completion in 12
months,
Lobsinger—Haskins Vows Exchanged
LAKELET—Miss Wilma Hel-
eae Haskins of R.R. 1 Clifford
became the bride of Robert
George Lobsinger of Mildmay,
in Sacred Heart Church, Mild-
may, on Saturday, September
7th at ten o'clock. Rev. Ryan
officiated before an altar dec-
orated with pink and white
gladioli. Larry Lobsinger pro-
vided the organ music with
Peter Lobsinger as soloist.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Haskins
of R.R. 1, Clifford are the par-
ents of the bride, while the
groom is the son of Mrs. Robert
Dietrich and the late Seraphine
Lobsinger of Mildmay.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride looked lovely
in a floor -length gown of or-
ganza chiffon over taffeta,
featuring a sequin trimmed
scoop neckline and lily -point
sleeves. The bouffant skirt was
enhanced by panels of sequin
trimmed Chantilly lace and she
wore a finger-tip veil of illus-
ion nylon caught to a circlet of
seed pearls and sequins and
carried red roses on a white
prayer book.
The maid of honor was a
sister of the groom, Mrs, Bev-
erley Mothersell of Hanover.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Douglas
Ratz, sister of the bride, of
Waterloo, Misses Betty Anne,
Marlene and Linda Dietrich of
Mildmay and Miss Ruby Haskins
sister of the bride, as junior
bridesmaid.
Mrs. Mothersell was gowned
in a rose bell-shaped street-
Iength dress of nylon chiffon
over taffeta, featuring a scoop
neckline and elbow -length
sleeves with a matching head-
dress veil caught to pearl stud-
ded petals. The bridesmaids
were gowned in identical gowns
in a mint green color and all
carried cascades of white and
pink carnations. The junior
bridesmaid wore a lace trim-
med white chiffon dress with a
white headpiece of rosebuds and
also carried pink and white car-
nations.
The groomsman was Frances
Mothersell of Hanover, brother-
in-law
rotherin-law of the groom. fishers
were Don Walters, Francis Illce,
brun of Mildmay and Mr. Earl
Haskins, brother of the bride of
Mildmay.
A buffet luncheon following
the ceremony was served at the
Formosa Community Centre.
The bride's mother received in
a two-piece champagne brocad-
ed dress with biege accessories
and a corsage of red roses. She
was assisted by the groom's
mother, wearing a two-piece
turquoise boucle suite with
black accessories and a corsage
of pink roses.
For their trip to Northern
Ontario the bride wore a double,
knit two-piece charcoal suit
with red accessories and a cor-
sage of red roses.
Guests were present from
Detroit, Hamilton, Sarnia, Bru-
ssels, Goderich, Atwood, Ailsa
Craig, Walkerton, Mildmay
and Clifford.
