Wilma Haskins, bride -elect,
at the home of Mrs, John
Wright on Friday evening. As-
sisting were Miss Sandra Wright
and Miss Audrey Scott.

contests and games were enjoy-
ed. Mrs. Sydney Thompson
read the address and the bride-
elect opened a lovely display

Recent visitors at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. H. Irwin and
other relatives were Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Irwin, Dougie and
Jimmie of Burlington; Miss
Joyee Irwin, who has returned
to her home in B. C. after
spending two months in Ontario;
Miss Gail Armstrong, who re-
turned to London on Sunday and
Miss Judy Reid.
Mr, and Mrs. Hugh Lavio-
lette and two children of Scar-
borough are spending this week
with her parents, Mr, and Mrs.
H. Irwin, and other relatives
in the vicinity.
CIub Members Take
Part in W.l. Meeting
BELGRAVE--The home
economics meeting of the Bel -
grave Women's Institute was
held in the Community Centre,
with the vice-president, Mrs,
Stanley Cook in charge. The
meeting opened with the Insti-
tute Ode and the Mary Stewart
Collect, The motto was "Be
sure to have good shoes and a
good bed; you spend your life
in one or the other" . Mrs.
Clifford Purdon was the con-
vener,
An invitation was read and
accepted to attend the Londes-
boro Institute meeting, to be
held in the Community Hall
there at 8 p.m. on Sept, 4.
Mrs. Stanley Black and Mrs.
Clark Johnston agreed to be the
leaders for the 4-1-1 Homemak-
ing Club, and will attend the
leadership training school to
be held in the arena at Wing -
ham on Aug 29 and 30. The
project will be "The Milky
Way".
The 4-H girls are to have a
display at the Seaforth Fall
Fair and Mrs. Cliff Purdon and
Mrs. Clark Johnston are to be
in charge of setting up the dis-
play. The roll call was an-
swered by some members of the
4-11 explaining The Milky Way
project and others inviting
members to attend.
Donna Grasby gave thecom-
ments for the display "Being
Well Dressed and Well Groom-
ed". Ruth Michie accompani-
ed by her mother, Mrs. George
Michie, played two trumpet
solos "Country Gardens" and
"In the Gloaming". Margaret
Nicholson accompanied by
Joyce Procter sang "Moon River',
The 4-H skit "Making the
Most of Our Clothes" was intro-
duced by Mrs. Clark Johnston.

Reception Held
For Newlyweds
BELGRAVE--A reception and
dance was held in the Foresters'
Hall on Friday evening in hon-
our of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan
Campbell, newlyweds.
At the intermission the cou-
ple was called to the platform
and Clifford Coultes made the
address and John Nixon present-
ed the young couple with a
purse of money on behalf of
their friends and neighbours.
Mr. Campbell thanked those
present on behalf of himself
and Eleanor.

meeting closed with the Queen,

tes, Mrs. Clark Johnston, assist-

uang. On Saturday they visit-

family attended the Fear re-
union at Eramosa on Sunday.

Falls from Truck
BELGRAVE--Brian Hopper,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Hop-
per, is a patient in the Wing -
ham and District Hospital after
aving fallen out of a truck on
Monday, Twelve stitches were
required to close the gash in
his knee. He suffered several
other minor cuts and bruises.
