Estimated cost is $165,- 000 for the three -span structure. Total length is 203 feet with 150 feet of over -water run. The roadway will be 28 feet wide. The structure is being built by county workmen under the supervision of Bob Edgar. —A -T Photo. Friends of Mrs. Ross Doig will be sorry to hear that at present she is confined to Vic- toria Hospital, London. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brecker and Mary Lou of Baden are spending a few days this week with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Moore. Miss Sharon Pollock of Kit- chener was a week -end visitor at her home here. Miss Donna Siefert of Galt spent the week -end with her parents. Misses Maud and Esther Harding of Toronto spent the week -end at their home here. Mr. and Mrs. Art Wells and family of London and Master Jerry Durst of Listowel spent several days last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs, George Ashton. Mrs. Sam Johnston, Mrs, Jim Warrell and Mrs. Anson Demerling spent one day last week at Port EIgin. Mr. and Mrs. Anson Dem- erling visited Sunday with Mrs. Jack Schinbein in Mitchell. Ross and Arnold Doig visited one day last week with Mrs. Ross Doig, who is at present confined to Victoria Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Garnard King, Mr. and Mrs. John King, Mr. and Mrs. Donald King and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Baylor attended the King -Franks wed- ding at Holy Family Church in Hanover on Saturday. Mr. Earl Ridley of London spent the week -end at his home here. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Groves and family of Toronto spent several days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Len Wilson. Betty and Connie remained for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson of Scarborough are also visiting this week at the same home. Mr. E. C. Priess of Elm- wood is spending some time at the home of his son, Milton and Mrs. Priess. Mrs, Percy Whiteley of Scarborough visited last week with Mrs. Ruby Foster, Best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Bernald King and Mr, and Mrs. I•IughLitt, who were married Saturday. Mr, and Mrs. Alex Wray, Brian and Grace of Toronto, are spending this week at their home here. Miss Janie llarnbly is spend- ing a couple of weeks with Mr, and ,Mrs. Max Hambly in Kitch- ener, Miss Elizabeth Armstrong of Stratford is spending three weeks' vacation with her pa rents Mr, and Mrs. I3ruce Armstrong. Mr. and Mis. Stan Bride left Saturday for a motor trip through Surprise Couple On Anniversary LAKELET—Tuesday evening a surprise party was held at the hotne of Mr. and Mrs, lrlmer Haskins, when members of Mrs. (Helene Dahms) Haskins' family gathered to honor the couple on their 25th wedding anniver- sary, They presented Mr. and Mrs. Haskins with a lovely floor lamp with matching table Tamps, The evening was spent playing solo and everyone en- joyed a delicious lunch. On Saturday evening their children presented them with a lovely four -seater chesterfield and a clock with an engraved plaque. Numerous other gifts were also received from rela- tives and neighbors to mark this special occasion, BUILDING DRIVE -1N IN BRANT TOWNSHIP LAKELET—Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McKee, proprietors of the Lakelet General Store, have purchased a piece of land in Brant Township, one mile east of Walkerton, They are erecting a drive-in restaurant on the property. The site, located at the corner of Highway 4 and the 15th of Brant across from the Haase Grocery Store, was procured from Mclntee Real Estate of Walkerton. LAKELET NEWS Mr, and Mrs. Joseph Byler and family are visiting for a week with relatives in Ohio, U.S.A. Mr. and Mrs, Glen Reidt and Paul of Newmarket, visited with Mn, and Mrs. Irvin Reidt. Miss Ethel Webber of Scar- borough is holidaying with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Webber. Mrs. Ken Connolly and children, Ann and Stephen of Mitchell, are holidaying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Webber. Laverne Webber of Newmarket also spent the week- end with his parents. Miss June Wright of Kitchen- er spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs, Gordon Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ratz of Kitchener spent the week- end with Mr. and Mrs, Elmer Haskins. Miss Kaye Woods is holiday- ing this week with her aunt, Mrs. Oliver Kargef at her cot- tage at Point Clark, Northern Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hambly left Saturday for a vacation in Vancouver, B.C. Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Hargrave, Douglas and David, attended the Reid reunion Sun- day in Moorefield Park, Mr. and Mrs, William Soth- ern accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stewart and family of Lis- towel Sunday to lnverhuron, and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Doug Wildfang.
