Parents, Pupils Honor Te
DONNYBROOK --On Thurs-
day evening Miss Nancy Erwin,
teacher of the Public School
Section and a bride-to-be, was
guest of honor at a miscellan-
eous shower at the home of
Mrs. Hilliard Jefferson where
over 40 parents and pupils had
gathered.
After a sing song and contest
which all enjoyed, Wanda Wil-
son read the presentation ad-
dress and the former pupils
brought in the numerous gifts
cher
from the parents and pupils of
the school. Diane Chamney
and Nancy Smith assisted her in
opening them. Although sur-
prised, Miss Erwin thanked
them all for their lively gifts
and kindness to her.
Lunch was then served by
the' hostess assisted by the pupils
and all enjoyed the social time
together.

BLUEVALE—The annual
Willis reunion was held on Sun-
day at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Lawrence Willis, James-
town, with 44 present. Those
attending were Mr. and Mrs.
Cecil Miller and family and
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Koch and
family of Gowanstown, Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Russell and
Mrs. Thos. Gaunt
Dies in Hospital
Rev. Donald Sinclair was
assisted by Rev. G. L. Fish on
Monday afternoon, when ser-
vice was held at the R. A.
Currie & Sons funeral home for
Mrs. Thomas Gaunt of Wing -
ham. Mrs. Gaunt died in the
Wingham District Hospital on
Friday, following a short ill-
ness. She was in her 78th
year.
The pallbearers were five
grandsons, Roy, Ivan, and
Blake Stephenson, James and
Donald Gaunt, and a nephew,
Jack Muma. Floral tributes
were carried by Mervin Temple-
man, Wilfred Henry, Harley
Gaunt and Alex McKenzie.
Interment was in Wingham
Cemetery.
Rachel Patterson Gaunt was
the former Rachel Muma,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jos-
eph Muma, and was born in
Arkona, Ontario. She married
Mr. Gaunt April 19, 195'7, in
Wingham, and was a member
of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by her hus-
band, a daughter, Mrs. Joseph
(Greta) Stephenson of London,
five grandchildren and ten
great grandchildren. There is
also a brother, Roy Muma, of
Chippawa, Ontario.
Choir, S.S. Honor
Faithful Worker
WHITECHURCH--The choir
and Sunday School officials of
the United Church here, held a
wiener and marshmallow roast
at Turnberry Park on Monday
evening. Mrs. Millan Moore
was in charge of the sing -song
and a short worship service, and
led in the contests.
An address was read in ap-
preciation of the work of Miss
Karen Groskorth in each of
these groups of church work,
and she was presented with a
large aluminum tray. After
the social time, the meeting
was closed with a verse of
"Blest Be the Tie that Binds",
and the Mizpah benediction.
