Program BLUEVALE--The Women's Institute met on Wednesday evening, July lOth, with the president, Mrs. George Hether* ington, in the chair, There was a large attendance of 4+H club girls and their mothers, members and guests. A delightful musical pro, gram was provided by members of the 4.H clubs with Mrs. Nora Moffatt as accompanist. The club "Dainty Dusters" and club "Sewing Sweethearts" provided a skit, "Shoes and Stockings" and displayed an effective array of cotton dust- eIs. Those taking part in the evening's program were Betty Hetherington, Mary Lillow, Grace Mathers, Edith Shaw, Ruth McLennan, Gail Kirton, Elaine Snell, Ann McKercher, and Ruth Mathers. THIS GROUP OF CHILDREN is part of the beginner's class at the Bible school which is now in operation at the local Presbyterian Church. Thomas Presides at WMS BLUEVALE—The July meet- ing of the Bluevale Presbyter- ian WMS was held on Wednes- day evening with the president, Mrs. Bernard Thomas, presid- ing. She opened with the theme, "Benevolence". Res- ponsive reading was taken from St. Matthew, chapter 5, verses 38-48. Mrs. Burns Moffatt led in prayer and the roll call was answered with a current event in missions. Minutes of the June meeting were read by Mrs. Harry Elliot, assistant secretary, The treas- urer's report was given by Mrs. Eldon Kirton, The offering was taken up by Mrs. Kirton and dedicated by Mrs. Thomas. The topic was taken by Mrs. Keith Moffatt, whose opening remarks were "Go ye into all the world". She explained that it is not enough for us to be satisfied with our own lives but we must send missionaries to other lands. It is our duty to give to our young people the responsibility of carrying on our missionary work. The Bible study was taken by Mrs, Ross Gray. She comment- ed on "who is my neighbour?" relating the story of the good Samaritan. The Lord's prayer was repeated in unison and Mrs, Thomas closed the meet- ing with a benediction, Husband: " These hotel walls seem pretty thin when you want to sleep."
