Presides at WMS
BLUEVALE—The July meet-
ing of the Bluevale Presbyter-
ian WMS was held on Wednes-
day evening with the president,
Mrs. Bernard Thomas, presid-
ing. She opened with the
theme, "Benevolence". Res-
ponsive reading was taken from
St. Matthew, chapter 5, verses
38-48. Mrs. Burns Moffatt led
in prayer and the roll call was
answered with a current event
in missions.
Minutes of the June meeting
were read by Mrs. Harry Elliot,
assistant secretary, The treas-
urer's report was given by Mrs.
Eldon Kirton, The offering was
taken up by Mrs. Kirton and
dedicated by Mrs. Thomas.
The topic was taken by Mrs.
Keith Moffatt, whose opening
remarks were "Go ye into all
the world". She explained
that it is not enough for us to
be satisfied with our own lives
but we must send missionaries
to other lands. It is our duty to
give to our young people the
responsibility of carrying on
our missionary work.
The Bible study was taken by
Mrs, Ross Gray. She comment-
ed on "who is my neighbour?"
relating the story of the good
Samaritan. The Lord's prayer
was repeated in unison and
Mrs, Thomas closed the meet-
ing with a benediction,
Husband: " These hotel
walls seem pretty thin when
you want to sleep."
Wife: "Maybe, but awfully
thick when you want to listen."
