a family reunion, celebrating
the 45th wedding anniversary
of her parents, Mr, and Mrs,
S. Lambert, of St, Catharines,
held at the home of his sister,

U.C.W. Picnic
At Ritchie Home
WHITECHURCH--The U.C.
W. of the United Church held
the July meeting last Wednes-
day at the home of Mrs. Clar-
ence Ritchie, when about 40
women and children were pre-
sent for the annual picnic meet-
ing.

their superintendent, Mrs. Rit-
chie, presiding, presented a
splendid program including a
skit, "The Stone in the Road",
recitations and songs. Mrs.
Sieightholm conducted a quiz
on "Books of the Bible". Mrs.
Millan Moore told the interest-
ing missionary story of the life
and work of the Scottish girl,
Mary Slessor, in Africa. Rev,
G. C. Mitchell closed the
meeting with prayer.
A bountiful lunch was serv-
ed with ice cream and cake.
At the meeting which follow-
ed
ollowed the picnic, the president
reported that the bale had been
sent to Korea and another to
the Fred Victor Mission in Tor-
onto. The August meeting will
be held at the home of Mrs.
Russell Gaunt,
Miss Mabel Purdon is a pat-
ient at the hospital at Goderich
this week.
A great many in this com-
munity have been laid up dur-
ing the week with summer flu,
Mrs, Elmer Farrish of Gorrie
and Miss Jean Adams of Wrox-
eter visited on Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs, Jas. E. Currie,
Mr. and Mrs. George Walk-
er visited on Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Mac Newton of Wrox-
eter,
Mrs. Henry Pattison hasbeen
a patient in Wingham Hospital
during the past week under-
going surgery there on Tuesday
last.
Miss Janet Watson of Aylmer
is spending this week at the
home of her sister, Mrs, Gilbert
Beecroft.

Met at Church
Belgrave--The Afternoon
Unit of the Belgrave united
Church Women met at the
church last Wednesday with 16
members and three visitors pre-
sent. The meeting was opened
with hymn and prayer by Mrs,
Stewart Procter.
Routine business consisting of
collection, secretary's and
treasurer's reports followed.
Mrs, Gordon Rosman gave tate
Bible study, "God Before Man",
A portion of the first chapter of
Genesis was wad in unison,
Mrs. Ken Wheeler gave the
mission study on Taiwan. The
meeting adjourned with a hymn
and the Mizpah benediction,
Fralick, of Welland; Harry Bennett, of Millgrove, Ont.,
and Glenn Coughell, of Dunnville.
