Angus MacKay and his sister, Miss Bertha MacKay of London visited last Thurs- day with their brother, Mr, and Mrs. Gordon MacKay. —Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Craw - flew to Cadillac, Sask. , lug Wednesday to attend their son John's wedding Friday eve- ning. After the wedding they motored to Banff and Lake \OTES Louise, back to Calgary for the Stampede and returned home Monday. While in Banff they visited with three Wingham girls, Ruth Hodgins, Jane Hetherington and Sue Nasmith, who are spending the summer months there, —Art Edgar, who has been in Victoria Hospital, London, for the past seven weeks, was able to return home last Friday. —Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Robinson, Russell and Rae, visited last week with the for- mer's sister, Mrs. W. H. Dain- ty and family of Pettawawa, and returned home by Ottawa and the St. Lawrence Seaway. --Mrs. Mary Macfie has returned home after spending last week with her sister, Mrs. A. Bieman and Mr. Bieman in London. —Mr. and Mrs. Ross Vogan and family of Stratford spent the week -end with her parents, Rev. and Mrs. W. D. Clark. Mr. Vogan is attending summer school in Toronto and Mrs. Vo- gan and children will remain in Wingham. --Mrs, Stewart Forsyth and Paul, Mrs. H. Sinnamon, Mrs. Geo, Webster and son John, and Mrs. E. W. Beecroft visit- ed with Mr. H. Sinnamon on Thursday last at Westminster Hospital, London. Mrs. Web- ster and John are visiting this week with Webster relatives in Lucknow. —Rev, and Mrs. J. Series of Services McIntosh Church To Mark Centennial Members of the McIntosh United Church have completed plans for a series of services which will mark the centennial of that congregation. Next Sunday, July 14, there will be a special service at 11 a, m. when Rev. W. J. Taylor, B, A. , of Dorchester will be the guest speaker. The following Tuesday eve- ning at 8.30 Rev. W, D. Clark of Wingham will be the speaker at another service. On Wednes- day afternoon (July 17) at 1.30 the ladies will. gather for an old-fashioned W. M. S. meet- ing to be followed by a quilt- ing. Rev. J. H. Martin, B, A, , of Toronto will be the speaker at a service on Thursday eve- ning and the service at 8.30 Friday evening will be takenby Rev. A. Lloyd Thompson, B. A. , B.D., of Tupperville. The concluding services will take place on Sunday, July 21, Speaker at the service at 11 a. m. will be Rev, R. H. Turn- bull, M. A. , B. D. , S. T. M. , of Toronto. In the afternoon at 2.30 a memorial service will be held in the cemetery adjoining the church, with Mr. Turnbull as the speaker. Lunch will be served in the interval between the services. The McIntosh congregation extends a corial invitation to all former members and friends of the congregation to join with them in this series of cen- tennial services. The speakers are all former ministers of the church. 16 Young Ladies Complete Course In an impressive ceremony on the hospital grounds last Fri- day afternoon, 16 young women graduated as nursing assistants after a 10 -month course at the Wingham and Dis- trict General Hospital. Mrs. I. Morrey, hospital administratrix, welcomed the parents and friends of the girls, and outlined the history of the course, stating that 19 had started with 16 graduating. Each of the girls received diplomas from Mrs. Morrey assisted by Mrs. J. Fielding, course instructress. The vale- dictory address was given by Miss Mary Gerrits, of Sarnia. Miss E. Carr introduced the speaker, Miss L. Hopwood, director of nursing at the hospi- tal. She was thanked by Mrs. J. Ellacott, clinical supervisor. Receiving awards were Diane Tout, for scholastic standing: Veronica Kochany, general progress; Gerda Skov, nursery technique; Mary Ger- rits, the valedictorian's gift. Board chairman, Roy Cousins, presented the board stipend and congratulated the grad- uates. The glee club sang "I Would Be True", which was followed by the presentation of flowers to the mothers, by each of the graduates. Tea and pictures followed the ceremonies. Leader, all of Guelph, were week -end visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Seli, and attended the 19th Field Battery reunion.
