Nethery reunion on Saturday.
There were 115 members pre-
sent. A, E. Nethery of Wing-
ham was in charge of the sports
and races, which were enjoyed
Alik by the younger people as well
as by many of their seniors,
Guests were present from
Houston, Texas; Burlington; •
Hamilton; Niagara Falls; Caro,
Michigan; Chatham and De-
troit. The prize for coming
the longest distance went to
Kenneth Anderson, of Houston,
Texas.
After the supper hour the
president, Mrs. Bert Gantiss,
took charge of the meeting, in-
cluding business items, and
speeches and readings took
place.
Officials elected for next
year were Mrs. Grant Bearss,
of Niagara Falls, president;
Mary Isabel Nethery, of Bel,
grave, secretary.

WHXTECHURCH--Mrs, Vic,
for Emerson, president, presid-
ed at the joint meeting of the
W, M, S. and the L. A. of the
Presbyterian Church on June 25,
at the home of Mrs, Dawson
Craig. Mrs. Emerson gave the
call to worship and gave a
reading on "Thoughts", Mrs,
Robt. Ross read the Scripture
and led in a thoughtful medi-
tation period, closing with the
poem, " What's in Our Hands",
Mrs, Frank Coulter led in
the Glad Tidings prayer, Twel-
ve members answered the roll
call with a Biblical verse con-
taining the word promise, and
Mrs. Russell Ross dedicated the
offering. Mrs, Johnston Conn
gave an interesting report of
the recent Presbyterial at Kin-
cardine, and Mrs. Frank Coul-
ter led in the closing prayer.
During the meeting the
ladies were busy quilting a quilt
for Mrs. Sam Hutchison, Wing -
ham, and lunch was served.
Three Showers
For Bonnie Edgar
GORRIE--Mrs. Gordon Edgar
was hostess for a miscellaneous
shower for Miss Bonnie Edgar,
bride -elect, when about 30
members of the Edgar family
were present, Mrs, Robert
Strong and Mrs. Glad Edgar con-
ducted contests and the guest of
honor was seated in a decorated
chair.
Miss Edgar was also the re-
cipient of many lovely gifts
when her friend, Mrs. Blanche
McMillan of Kitchener, was
hostess at her home for a kit-
chen shower, which was attend-
ed by about 20 girt friends,
The group from her depart-
ment in Mutual Life Assurance
Company in Waterloo, where
she has been employed for the
past five years, presented her
with a steam iron and a pop-up
toaster at a shower on Tuesday
evening of last week.

Howick Twp. , a daughter.
Miss Marlene Wylie, daugh-

underwent a tonsillectomy on
Tuesday at the Bruce County
Hospital, Walkerton, and is
making a good recovery.

ily of Ethel. Grandson Randy

Bone Is Cracked
By Cow's Kick
WHITECHURCH--Edgar Gaun
has been confined to the Wing -
ham Hospital since Friday. The
accident happened when he was
bringing home a cow and her
calf. As he tried to hurry her
along with his stick she kicked
him on the leg, just below the
knee and cracked a bone.
