Mr, and Mrs. Stuart Baum- ber and family and Mr. Harry Walker visited Mr. and Mrs, Russell Walker on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Abel of Listowel were Sunday guests of Mrs. R. Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. McKay, Danny and Billie spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. George Mc- Kay, R.R. 1, Bluevale. Mrs. Tony Meahen, Kings- ton, renewed old aquaintances in and around Wroxeter Iast week, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Richards and family of Weston and Mrs. Annie Brown of Toronto visited with Mr, H. G, Clark on Sun- day. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hart, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hart, Mrs, Alonzo Sparling, Mr. John Hup- fer, Miss Hazel Sparling, Messrs. Ed, and Clarence Mc- Callum, accompanied by Mrs, Mae Jackson of Gorrie, attend- ed the Hart reunion in Seaforth on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Howes are vacationing at Pikangikum and Mr, Ian Howes will return home with them for summer vacation. Those from around Wroxeter attending the 100th anniversary at Molesworth Presbyterian Church were Mr. and Mrs, Wm. Wade, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hupfer, Miss Catherine Mao - Donald and Mrs, Lloyd Hupfer, Mr, and Mrs. Ira McLean. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Douglas are spending a few days in the north and Miss Ann Douglas of Copper Cliff will return home with them for summer vacation. Mr. Will Ringler and Mrs, Chas, McCutcheon attended the Oddfellows decoration service at Listowel on Sunday and also called on Mr, and Mrs. Fred Quantz and Mrs, Ormie Walker. Mr, and Mrs, Vern Clark, Mr. Terry Clark, Miss Dawn Lue Clark, accompanied by Miss Linda Stewart of Harriston, visited Mr, Gordon Underwood in London hospital who, we are pleased to report, is improving. Mr. and Mrs, Allister Green and Janis of Goderich spent Sun- day with Mr. and Mrs. George Gibson, Miss Linda Green, who has spent the past week at the Gibson home, returned home with them. Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Frank Earles of London, who passed away after a very lengthy illness, Grade one of Wroxeter Pub- lic School enjoyed a picnic at the home of Mrs, Bruce Cham- bers on Monday after school, when they made a presentation to their teacher, Miss Buchanan, We are sorry to hear Mr. Bert Pocaluyko underwent surgery in a London hospital on Saturday to remove a piece of steel from his eye, which he received on Friday while working in his fa- ther's garage. He expects to return home Monday. Mr. Clarke Sharpin expects to return home Tuesday from Wingham and District Hospital where he has been for the past few days after receiving a fing- er injury while working near Paisley. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ridley and Stanley moved to the for- mer George Lackie home on Saturday. 1963 Grants Same Name Committees For Howick Fair FORDWICH—A directors' meeting of the Howick Agricul- tural Society was held in the Gorrie Orange Hall on Friday evening. Committees were named for the coming fall fair on October 4 and 5th. Mel Allan, Mel Taylor, and Perry Strong were named program committee with Roy Strong, Jack Stafford, R. Gowdy, R. Neill, Glenn McMichael and Oscar Kieffer for Howick and Turnberry special prize com- mittee. Several changes and additions were made to the livestock sections. Robt. Gibson explained the Huron County grants and it is understood they will remain the same in 1963 as in the past. It was also decided to renew the liability insurance cover- age for the fair. A meeting to complete final arrangements will be held in September. Anyone wishing to set up displays, exhibits or make entries for the fall fair, please contact the secretary, Mrs. Robt. Gibson, R.R, 1, Gorrie. W. A. McDonald Funeral Tuesday WROXETER—William Angus McDonald, a well-known resi- dent of this district, died at the Kitchener -Waterloo Hospi- tal on Saturday. He had under- gone surgery about three weeks ago. Mr. McDonald was 69 years of age. Born near Bayfield, he was a son of the late 'Phomas Mc- Donald and his wife, Grace McDougall. Mr. McDonald's wife died in 1947, Coming to this district in 1937 the deceased had been a farmer and drayman and was a member of St. James' Angli- can Church and the Howick Lions Club. Service was held at 2 p, m. Tuesday at the Moir funeral home in Gorrie, conducted by Rev. George Anderson and interment was made in Wrox- eter Cemetery, Hart Reunion At Seaforth WROXETER--The annual Hart reunion was held in Seaforth Lion's Park on Sunday, with 32 in attendance. Prize winners were: Passing the peanut, Verna Robertson's group; passing water to fill jug, Allan Sundercock's group; egg throwing contest, June Hubbard and Jerry Sundercock; kicking bean bag, Bea Bodfish for ladies Ted Bodfish, men; dropping penny in bottle, Evey Hart; guessing macaroni in jar, Jim Robertson; inches of string on sign, Ernie Queen; oldest per- son, Ed. McCallum; youngest, Robert Sundercock; balloon blowing contest, (men) Lyle Hart; lucky spot prize, Billy Bodfish. Willing Workers Hold Meeting LATE FOR LAST WEEK WROXETER—Mrs. C. Mc- Cutcheon and Mrs. H. Mc- Michael were in charge of the June meeting of the Willing Workers. "Jesus Stands among Us" was sung and Mrs. Mc- Michael read the Scripture, Mrs. McCutcheon gave the meditation and prayer and the singing of another hymn follow- ed. Twelve members and one visitor answered the roll call with a Bible verse containing the word "father", Miss Elva Hupfer gave an interesting talk from the study book, "Asia's Rim". Mrs. G. Gibson conducted the business. The treasurer's report was given by Mrs. G. Harris, Mrs. Harris and Mrs. B. McLean will be in charge of the July meeting. Mrs. Gibson closed the meeting with the Mizpah bene- diction and a pot luck supper was served. Hold Shower for Miss MacDonald WROXETER-- About 25 friends and relatives attended a shower given by Miss Nancy Newton for Miss Catherine MacDonald, bride -elect of next month, and held at the home of Mrs. Thos. Newton on Saturday afternoon. The bride -to -he received many lovely and useful gifts, The afternoon was spent in con- tests and lunch was served by the hostess, assisted by Miss Nancy Newton and Mrs. Lyle Hart, An argument is two people trying to get the last word in first, Those attending were from London, Kingsville, Stratford, Goderich, Gorrie and Wroxete4 and St. Thomas. D. Smith was a delegate from Huron County at the Ontario Historical Society ' convention in Toronto last week. Mr, and Mrs, Neil Mac- Eaclireu, Neil MacEachreu, Mrs, Louise Neilson and Mich- ael, all of Downsview, spent Sunday with Malcolm Scott, Mr, and Mrs. Bob McMurray and children, of Kingston, spent the week -end with Mr, and Mrs. R, J. McMurray. Mrs. Ross Douglas has re- turned to Toronto after several weeks' visit with her sisters, Misses Mary and Ruby Duff and Mrs. M, L. Aitken. Mrs. Wm. McKinney and Mrs. Richard Jeffray, of Wing - ham, visited Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Elliott on Sunday. Mr, and Mrs, Ernest Wiley, of Saskatchewan, have been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Eldon Kirton, Mr, and Mrs. R. J, Mc- Murray had the members of their family as guests at the week -end. Mr, and Mrs. Bob McMurray and family of Kings- ton and Mr. and Mrs. Donald McMurray and daughter, of Lucknow. Harvey Messer, of Toronto, visited Mr, and Mrs. Raymond Elliott at the week -end. Mr. and Mrs. George Ger- mau, of Clinton, and Mr, and Mrs. Wm. Anderson of Long Island, visited Mr, and Mrs, Charles Coultes on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Elliott visited at Woodstock last week. Henry Deut, of Brussels, visited Dugold Strachan on Sunday. Mrs, Arnold Lillow, Barbara and Norman McMinn motored to Dundalk on Sunday. Mr. McMinn will remain for a visit. Mrs. Lawson Smith and her daughter, Mrs. Ole Kvernenes, of Seattle, have been visiting Reeve A. D. Smith and Mrs. Smith , For Teacher Bluevale--A farewell party in honor of Miss Beverley Evans was given by residents of the section at the stone school in Morris on Wednesday evening, Miss Evans, of Cranbrook, has taught in the school for three years and is leaving to take a position in Kitchener, A ball game was followed by a barbecue on the school grounds, which all enjoyed, Mrs. Bert Garniss Lead an address, appreciative of the work of Miss Evans in the school: and her place in the hearts of the pupils. Mrs. Harvey Edgar and Mrs. Jim Elston presented gifts, a piece of luggage and Corning glassware. Miss Evans expressed her thanks in a few words of farewell and best wishes.
