This annual picnic start- ed tarted as a wedding anniversary of the late Duncan Kennedy, a former mayor of Wingham, and his wife Lottie Kennedy, now Mrs. Robert Mowbray. The officers elected for 1964, president, William Stewart of Campbellville; vice -pros., Ro- bert Mowbray of Wingham; ground committee, Donald Ste- wart of Puslinch, Miss Ilelen McEdwards of Guelph and Gor- don L. Stewart of Galt; lunch committee, Mrs. George Ste- wart and Mrs. Frank Elliott of Puslinch, and Miss Ailine Mc - Edwards of Guelph; secy,-treas., William Kennedy of Wingham. Visits Family WHITECHURCH—Mrs. George Sealy (Edith Gaunt) of Victoria, B.C., and her son, George of Vancouver, arrived at Malton Airport on Sunday and will visit for two weeks with her sister, Mrs. George McClenaghan and brothers, Beth Gaunt of Wing - ham and Edgar Gaunt of Mar- noch and other relatives in this district. R. Farrier, and with other relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Alexan- der of Goderich spent the week- end with Mr. and Mrs. Murray Shiell, Miss Margaret McMillan of Kitchener spent the week -end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick McMillan. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Walker were in London on Mon- day when baby Richard had a check-up at the Sick Children's Memorial Hospital there. Mr. Wm, A. Williams and family of Goderich visited on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Marsh and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ross were in Durham on Sunday and visit- ed with the latter's aunt, Mrs. Neil Phillips, a resident of the Watson Nursing Home. Mr, and Mrs. W. A. Hum- phrey, St, Helens, Mrs. George Webster and Mr. and Mrs, Roy Robinson were in London on Saturday, where Mrs. Humph- rey had a check-up at Victoria Hospital. Mrs. John Haggitt of Brussels is spending a few days this week with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emer- son. Miss Linda Johnston of Bel - grave spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tiffin of Kinloss. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Conley of Trenton spent the week -end with her parents, Mr, • and Mrs, Roy Irwin and with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Conley of Langside. The service in the Presbyter- ian Church here will be with- drawn on Sunday on account of the anniversary services at Lang - side Presbyterian Church. Mr. and Mrs. David John- ston of Trail, B. C, , visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Rus- sell Ritchie. Mrs. J. G. Gillespie plans to leave on Sunday by plan from Malton, to visit her sister, Miss Edith Peddle of Edmonton, Alta., and with relatives at Vancouver, B. C. Mrs. Oscar Schefter has been a patient in Goderich Hospital since last Wednesday. Baechler trucks from Goder- ich were busy last week draw- ing logs home from Jas. Fl, Currie's bush and from Allan Pattison's bush, Mr. and Mrs. Angus Falcon- er and sons from Streetsville spent the week -end with his mother, Mrs, Cecil Falconer, Mr, Lawrence Taylor from Calvin -Brick United Church, attended conference meetings in London last week. J. D. Beecroft attended the Presby- tery meeting there, on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs, Jack Shiell and Mr. and Mrs. Murray Shiell, and other members of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Shiell's family at- tended a family dinner at the Hartley House, Walkerton, on Thursday, in honour of the 35th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Shiell's wedding day. Mr. G G. Weber of Burgessville has purchased Mr. Allan Patti - son's farm and gets possession this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Watson and children of Forest spent the week -end at the Pat- tison home. Mr. Jack Lindenschmidt, of Dutton, who had been visiting his parents at Walkerton, visit- ed on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Carl Weber, A social evening is being held this Friday in the Presby- terian Church here, to honour Rev, and Mrs, Derwyn Bill and family, before they leave to make their home at Sudbury. .All are cordially invited to at- tend. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Gaunt and Murray of St. Helens at- tended anniversary services here on Sunday and visited with Mr, and Mrs. Russell Gaunt. C. of Calvin - Brick United Church will have a special entertainment meet- ing next Tuesday, at 8:30 p, m, when the ladies from White- church Presbyterian and United Church, St, Helens, Donny- brook, Westfield and the two societies from Delgrave will be present, Mrs. Wallace Conn has been a patient in Wingham Hospital since Tuesday last, Mr, and Mrs. Hardie Simpson of Tees- water and Mr. and Mrs, Harold Johnston and family of Parkhill visited on Sunday with their mother, Mrs. Wm.
